Hey,
I found an extention called GoUp, which as suggested, goes up in the page heirarchy.

However due to the way the Bungie forums are structured, it didn't work, so I made my own!
When you click the icon, you will be returned to the most recent forum index. Designed for when you post or look at another topic.

Below is the readme
There are no known bugs, but if you find anything, please let me know.

KNOWN BUGS:
Does not currently function with groups - In progress for next version.

UpBungie Beta Version

Installation Instructions:
Open Firefox and go to the Add-Ons menu.
Drag the "UpBungie.xpi" file onto the Add-Ons menu to install.
Once installed, add the Bungie icon to the toolbar using the Customise Toolbar menu to use.

Description:
This addon will enable an optional toolbar button which will
return the user to the last "root" forum on Bungie.net visited in that
session. For example, after making a post, click the button to jump back to
the forum index.
I made it because the "GoUp" Add-On I found did not work on the bungie forums due
to the forum structure.

Copyrights and Claims:
I (ajhayter) made this. Ok? Feel free to use the source or anything else.

It does not work with groups.

Is there anyway to make this work with Mouse Gestures?

No idea.

The code is very inefficient and so I will have to do some major JS learning to get it to work with groups...
