Spartans don't die, they simply go to hell and regroup.

Have some dignity and at least post something other than just that.. or at least LEARN TO COUNT! You were 4th.. stupid smacktard spammer.

Annnywho.. it is great that Halo pc is continuing to be popular, there are many great times to be had with it!

Have you ever wondered if there's more of a purpose to the yellow sticker with the 25-digit product key than to sell keyboards by wearing out your old one?

Wha.....at?

How can there be so many people in 30 days?.. Everytime I treid to play online with no filters there was like... less than 50 players playing in all servers... And the few I could get in --> sniper only blood gulch. I'm using the in-game browser though, maybe thats why?..

If Bungie would just make Halo CE (for xbox) xbox live compatible you can take that number and multiply it by a close to a billion.

Heh, doesn't suprise me at all. Halo 1 is still an awesome game. It's gotta better campaign mode than Halo 2 anyway. 130,000 players in the last 30 days? Meh...

Still, it seems a bit low. I mean, this is the only game in the Halo series that can be played on any halfway decent PC, and seems to be the less annoying alternative to the buggy Halo 2 Vista relese (not that I know anything about all that).

Then again, by technological standards, this is an ancient game...

Halo 3 (31st), ODST (14th) and Reach (4th) Mythic Conqueror. (Mythic is Solo, Legendary, All skulls on + scoring on and no deaths/saves).

That post earned you, 0 points. There aren't close to that many people in the world.

And that is impossible without completely rewriting the MP game and re-releasing it. How many would actually buy that version? You, and maybe a couple of thousand others. Thats it.

Plus you can use a gamepad (read: XBOX 360 controller) in Halo PC anyway. Just go buy it if you're so desperate to play online.

i think bungie or the ppl at xbox live should make a upgrade that allows ppl to play halo ce online
That's basically the only way to play it...online. There's no campaign in ce so what are you gonna do. Besides, ce is on pc so what would xbl do?

Now that's not entirely true. There is a campaign for ce, it just wasn't entirely made by Bungie. Go to here and check out the forums, especially the "Halo 2 Vista Mapping Teams" section. There should be quite a few threads about a "SPv2" in there. This SPv2 is the second release of Custom Map Team's remake of the Halo 1 campaign. They're really taking their time with this one, and making sure everything works properly and it has everything they want in it.

That's not really going strong for a PC game. Counter Strike 1.6, approaching its eighth birthday, has 229,831 players online, playing, this very second.

That's pretty cool, when i joined online last time, i was happily surprised that there still was a healthy amount of servers and gamers out there.

The Halo Maps Website http://www.halomaps.org
The Halo Movies Website http://www.halomovies.org
The Halo CE Chronicles http://hcec.halomaps.org

Since the article is talking about statistics, first let me say that I am not surprised by the 132,000 number of players and although the Halo Custom Edition portion of that number is most likely small the interest in Halo CE seems to be holding steady even with the introduction of Halo 2 Vista for PC.

Since Jan, 1 2005 there have been over 3,769,490 files and over 105.37 Terabytes downloaded from the Halo Maps website specifically for the Halo Custom Edition game. The Halo Custom Edition Game itself has been downloaded over 131,000 times and the Halo Editing Kit for Halo Custom Edition over 54,000 times. Although I can not say how many of these downloads are repeats just the raw numbers alone indicate a continuing interest in the Halo CE game.

The Halo fans have created over 1,000 unique game levels, modified or changed over 350 existing levels, converted or created over 35 single player maps and generated over 20 Custom User Interface files to customize your start up screen.

Halo Custom Edition was released as an unsupported upgrade and even without support the fans stepped up the plate and created over 140 tutorials to share what they learned and teach people how to make custom content.

The original Halo game still holds peoples interest and the customization capability of Halo CE sparks their imagination. It was a bold experiment to allow Gearbox to release Halo CE in unsupported form and the statistics from the Halo Maps website alone is proof that it was a good gamble.

Why then is this site practially devoid of any Halo 2 Vista info?
It's xbox or Halo PC.
Where are the Halo 2 Vista stats/info/forum threads?
I am very confused by all this.
I'm just interested to see how it does, I don't have the game or Vista, but I'd still like to see how it does, and new maps, etc.

That'd be me. And, my friends/team of awesomeness. Even with Halo 2 out and even the Beta which I also play, I still feel an urge to go back and play the original. The campaign is still awesome, and so is multiplayer...sometimes. When I join someone else's game it lags for everyone but the host. You gotta shoot ahead of the enemy to actually hit them. But even with that people still say I use
aim-bot. So I tell them I use it and to activate it you press alt+f4. If they come back, I say I'm sorry, it was really ctrl+w. Trust me, they'll come back like dumb-asses, and keep complaining. But you
can't tell me it ain't funny.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Halo PC, the best game Bungie didn't make.

Indeed. Bungie doesn't even deserve to have anything about PC games on it's home page, especially if they haven't said a word about Halo 2 Vista in months.

People need to realized that CE stands for both "Custom Edition" and "Combat Evolved"... don't mix them up.

there's a little confusion going around

CE can stand for "Combat Evolved" or "Custom Edition"

Custom Edition does not have a campaign, it just allows you to play custom maps online

anyway, I play Custom Edition everytime I'm on vacation (like now), and it's great

it has everything you ever wanted: You can fly pelicans, longswords, whatever.

but it's a great game (still, after 4 years!!!)

I play Halo CE everyday, considering I dont have Xbox Live, and I own 12 copies of the PC game (I am a BIG fan, the biggest one you'll ever see in fact), and I am really glad that people continue to play Halo PC because I would just break if everyone stopped to play the other Halo games.
