The best place to test yourself is at the hole you drop down into. My dad and I had it worked out in a conveyor system. It was just like how the old redcoat military columns functioned. 1st guy: deplete grenades, empty AR clip, orderly retreat to the back (of the two man column), reload and reheal while 2nd guy does the same. It's after about a half an hour later when you get one of those five second pause that you get to look around real fast and you notice... there's not a damn bit of the wall not stained in puss. THAT"S when you feel like a true war machine. We did that for maybe a half an hour and then made the EXTREMELY slow push towards where we came (using the above conveyor belt process). We got back but all the doors were locked. We tried to push back to the exit but died halfway (the puffdaddies... there was no escaping them). All in all we fought them for maybe forty-five minutes or a little longer. I couldn't even keep count of all the flood we killed. It was epic. I try it myself but it's easier (not to mention more fun) to have a partner that's got your back. The fight lasts longer.

This would be a good time to point out that the US Government seriously did consider nuking the moon during the Cold War as a show of force. Project A119.

"A large explosion on the Terminator line would put the sun behind the mushroom cloud, making the explosion visible with the naked eye from Earth."

Then the US decided they'd just send in Neil Armstrong to land on it. Neil Armstrong - the one man on the earth that was considered a suitable replacement for a nuclear missile.

Lol I was playing multiplayer when we first saw them. And you know how they make that haucking noise? Well, I thought my friend was gonna spit a lugie at me so I kicked him out of my house.

I really hope they have a scene in Halo 3 that is as suspensefull and built up as much as this part was. Just how they show you the video of what Jenkins went through and then put you in the same room, with the music that kept building and building up that something horrible was about to occur!!

but yeah reckon at first i felt sorry for jenkins but when i relised i was about to face em it scared the -blam!- outta me, infact it still does, when halo 2 came out i was glad there are less infection forms to deal with at a time, but im hoping for it to be a flood frag frest in halo 3 to end the series how it began

Yeah I played it alone in the dark and my tv has like no backlight.

I didn't actually know that the little dudes were infection spores, I just assumed that they were dead-baby heads.

I took like an hour trying to get back to the surface.

I was 12.

Erm, I first SAW the flood in HALO 2 so hang on.

I had been studying about halo, knew very little about the flood, kinda forgot about em.

Played CE all the way to assault on the control room, i got bored and returned it for 2.

It was fun killing covies again.

And then I got to be the Arbiter, I was like, oh ok.

I'm in a zone right now with those grunts talking. I see the flood spores coming at me, bye bye clip.

I run like a mad man for the elevator, and am like ah ok, these must be the flood, not so bad.

Then I see an Elite with an inverted neck and wierd armor jump down in front of me, I literally jumped.

Ok back to Halo ce, just kinda, ah well these guys aren't so bad.

Therefore the motto of my story is, I think Halo 2 flood are scarier.

Well yeah, to look at, but complared to the suspence that the first Halo built them up to, H2 fell way short. It was just like "hey kill more bad things" instead of the whole psychological thing with Jenkins.

But please, don't get me started on Halo 2, because that game (campaign wise) was nothing to the first one. Halo 3 will be awesome though, right Bungie? ...right?

  • 06.14.2007 1:53 PM PDT

Good Luck.Dont die.

What I thought was Mommy! Holy Crap! to intense. Like the first time you play the First Call of Duty when bombs are going off in the sky and guns were blazing.

  • 06.14.2007 5:44 PM PDT

5 years and counting on Bungie. I feel old and worthless.

I, after seeing Jenkins record, i was wholly -Blam!- and i wanted to see how much damage they inflicted but bad idea, they got me. i got a bigger shock when i seen infected elites and humans and i thought that infection forms would get me that night lol.

Plot-wise, yes. Halo was fresh and new. You didn't know what to expect. H2 is just more of it so it seems tarnished somewhat. Also the parallel storyline kinda pissed people off. Personally I liked it but I'll admitt, I'm in a minority on this matter. As far as gameplay, I thought that H2 was a little better than the first though. The vehicles were a little more polished (metaphorically; not meaning graphics wise) and there were a better variety of guns of wich their quality was NOT diminished. The flood were more scary in H2, but you're right. The suspense in CE was better because you didn't know what to expect. A reason that makes H2's shortcomings (as far as suspense) somewhat forgiveable.

(sorry for the double post)

He makes a good point! Did anyone pay much attention to the walls of the elavator in H2. The bastards were climbing up and down them! Like f***ing spiders! And the music! Well more like background noise (with the screams and the screechy sounds). It made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up (something that never happened in CE). And the way the flood behaved was a lot more freakish than in its predacessor. I can easily see someone having a bigger fright playing H2 provided that he hadn't gone through CE first. The flood in CE made me jump; the flood in H2 made me tremble. All in all they were both well done. But after just a few minutes of more thought, I'd have to give the ribbon to H2 (looking back on my first time in the Sacred Icon... *shivers*) For someone who's never played any Halo, H2 would probably be a more frightening first experience even with having less suspense.

When I first saw the flood I was calm because it was only those little floods. But when the music played faster I was scared because those elite floods. So basiclly I craped myself.

Yeah that makes sense.
I didn't really mind the parallel storylines, I just didn't think the action was quite as thought out in Halo 2.

Well, with most of them, though I was a sucker for the assualt rifle... but I don't quite feel like beating that dead horse today, and anyway, Halo 3 will heal those gushing wounds in a few months. All I must do is wait.... wait.... wait.... eat some chips.... wait...

EDIT: oh dude but no beef, cuz u got an rvb quote on ur profiley thing too, and us proud few must stick together!
