This might be a repeat my mouse went crazy on me just now, but anyways, I really hope Don da Mon's emblem gets in because the spartan emblem is a sweet idea.

Way to go bungie, you chose another symbol that is plain and has nothing to do with the game... kudos to you

I'm not sure if you actually play Halo online, but the majority of gamers do not have Halo related emblems. We have jolly rogers, rockets that look like wangs, ninjas, eagles, bees, ninja turtle lookin' emblems, etc. etc.

The pirate was a perfect choice, it's the ying to the ninja's yang, which is an old Bungie running joke. It also fits into the whole Pimps at Sea. Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion, but damn people, better spit them grapes out if they're too sour.

im disappointed in you bungie. first off there already is the jolly roger so there is no need for the pirate. second that is very plain and boring, plus it sucks. no offense to the symbol creator but you should not have won. just the couple of symbols i have seen skimming through this topic are better. i hope bungie rethinks this and recalls their winner. or if that doesnt happen i hope a small forum riot breaks out and causes havok on everyone.

The new pirate bears a striking resemblence to Frankie! All he needs to do is grow a Fu-Manchu and slap on an eye patch.

UMM, BUNGIE GUYS- you do realize that the winning emlem you picked looks just like a copywrited emblem for a profesional football team, ever heard of the Oakland Raiders?, the NFL might be a little mad if you put that in your game without asking them first, and plus the Raiders suck big time!

Cross the Raiders logo with a "Legos Pirate" and you get the middle face, EXACTLY. Do a google image search of "lego pirate." You will see one of their lego characters is very, very similar in looks to the winner's design.

There is no mistaking that Noah is a Raiders fan that plays with Legos.; and his Halo 2 emblem is currently a spartan with swords or a flaming ninja already; big deal. He made something original... that is if you consider 'original' to be combining 3 existing images together (2 of which are copyright protected).

No big deal, right? I guess we don't have enough 'faces' for the Halo emblem selection.

A witty signature you say ! ? well at the moment i have nothing witty that springs to mind, so sory..................nope still nothing.......

Damn, I thought mine had a pretty good chance. Too bad I wasn't a runner up D: I think it was the flames that they didn't like because it resembles the Ninja emblem. I was hoping they would change that part or something XD! Ah well.

This was it for those of you who care:
Rock Out

EDIT: Congrats though to the winner! :D

Really like your emblem and could defiantly see it being in the game, I don't think the flames in your second design would clash with the flaming ninja emblem at all really. I think the winning design complements the flaming ninja very well and it just fits in well with Bungie’s humor in general when you think about the whole pimps at sea thing. but yeah great job on your emblem halo2girl305 I think it's sweet and I to am surprised that Bungie didn't consider it.

Then you should have known that most online players have non-Halo related emblems, so your point is moot.

PS. You can never like pirates too much.

the ticker to my top right says almost 200,000 players in the past 24 hrs, im sure you surveyed the majority of them to come up with your facts and figures right? Sorry people dont love pirates as much as you do, I just think Halo symbols should be Halo related, and for the most part (talking about symbols, not how players choose to use them) they are, but not pirates.

He searched 100s of entries and THAT was the perfect one??

And since when is a Ninja the opposite of a pirate? Did Ninjas used to fight pirates??

Stop the debate madness! Play Halo!

I'm very sorry, Noah, but as a Hard working artist, I feel cheated, I can't just sit by on this.
To Bungie, Here's PROOF that he cheated. I used the image frrom the news article of Noah's design, Blew it up, and overlayed the Ninja over it. And this is the result.

http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/750/proofofcheatingno2.jpg

Now I KNOW that Bungie re-drew it for the game. And it's possible that they reused the Ninja themselves. But Noah himself (page one of this thread) says himself that it's an exact match. And once again, please notice the use of Weapons in the design, and the fact that we already have a pirate emblem..

Case Closed...I hope.

If you were any kind of real "Hard working artist" you, and the rest of the flamers in this thread, would understand that there is huge value in continuity and uniformity. I am a "hard working artist" - I get paid very well to be such - and the majority of my time is spent on tweaking small ideas that have been in place for a long time. I can't tell you how many times I've "copied" a previous idea or concept to save time, money, and sanity without sacrificing the quality of the work. Props out to Noah - way to go, man.

I'm in the same field, and I know exactly what you mean. Also, being in the same field, you should know that you have to adhere to a set of limitations/requirements or face the consequences (whatever they might be). I think it's commendable that Noah made a clean, consistent looking piece and stood out among the rest, but the point is he seemed to overlook a couple specifications in the rules that should have resulted in disqualification. I'm sure many others were not considered on the same grounds:

Entries must be original work
You may not use any existing corporation’s logos, trademarks or other identifiable images
Your entry must be original, must not have been previously published ... and must have been created and owned exclusively by you
Entries may not contain: firearms/weapons; any content that contains trademarks, logos;
copyrighted materials owned by others (including ... other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media)

Granted that it's all up to Bungie in the end, but it's just kind of a slap in the face to everyone that did painstakingly read and abide by all the regulations just to see the selected art violates half of them. Rules are rules, why have them if they didn't matter? It was kind of ridiculous that we weren't allowed to submit an icon with weapons for a game that embodies war, I chose to respect that rather than risk disqualification.

There will always be sore losers in every contest, but I think a lot less people would have been upset if the winning entry wasn't in blatant violation of the rules.

This one just doesn't exactly 'tickle my fancy'.
I mean this is way to close to the halo 2 'jolly roger'...I think you should have posted the choices for the top 25 or so and let the community pick because I know I wont be using this. A vote could pick it better than the Bungie staff who is all from the same place around the same age the which is bad. Good job!

Play the game right or don't play at all

I don't know which one they liked... so I'm showing them all.
I personally like the tribal looking one but i did this all on a whim.
Hope you guys like. Also the pirate is cool, Congrats.

I'm just glad I was on the list. Everyone I know was calling me while I was at work and I was ignoring their calls.
I didn't find out untill that evening.
