The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Maybe this has been asked before, not sure. In HaloPC, when you are walking in any direction and you press the crouch key it overrides all other movement, and you crouch.

In H2V, the crouch key is unresponsive unless you are NOT pressing a direction key. In other words, I can only crouch in H2 if I stop moving.

Is this normal? Is this how it should be?

lol, i mispelled crouch...sorry.

Yes, I've been experiencing this problem, as well. The thing is, though, this problem isn't in H2X. You can crouch while you're walking in H2X. This certainly needs to be fixed with the next patch.

Thanks, I am glad to hear that I am not alone. The best part of Halo PC was the dodging and dancing you could do with crouching. This needs to be fixed.

I know. I use tons of crouching in my strafes in Halo 1 (PC and Xbox) and on H2X. It frustrates me when I push the shift button or click the left thumbstick on H2V and it doesn't work. (I've been playing with a bit of both, m/kb and controller). ARRRRRGH! It messes up my aim, too. : (

On the Xbox you can't crouch when you move at full speed unless you jump. When using a M&K don't you always run at full speed?

What are you talking about? You can crouch at anytime on the X-Box version, full speed or not. Trust me I used to do that several times to get my dot off radar. Halo 2 Vista, you can't crouch moving at any speed unless completely stopped. I've found myself jumping slightly just to crouch in mid transit. It's the only way I know of to crouch while moving in H2V. Definitely needs to be fixed.

I have the Xbox game running right in front of me and I can't crouch when I'm moving at full speed unless I slow down to walking speed.

I'd get your xbox checked or get a refund on that game, cause it's bugged. Go on youtube and search for Halo 2 games, almost every video there shows them crouching while running at full speed. I know I've been able to do it forever.

I'm sure out of 6 million games (?) sold there's a bugged version out there that can join in other games and play flawlessly and a random defect somehow alters the code in just the right way as to not break the game entirely.

Or it could just be my worn out controller that doesn't register the crouch when the stick is pushed all the way to the edge. Can somebody with an Xbox verify this?

Argh, Fatso is right. I just tested this on Xbox, and I can't crouch running at full speed.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Fatso is definitely right, however it was the same way in Halo 1, and they fixed it for PC, so why didn't they do it for H2V? Hope they do eventually.
