I loved the idea of Halo2 on pc, I was very excited for it, I am a big fan of the gameplay and single player, but the multiplayer system is flawed. On the original Xbox and Xbox 360 Halo 2 multiplayer was phenomenal and it seems like they didn't take that extra step for the pc users. First off they cut out the most innovative and crucial aspect of all of this. The clan system. The clan system provided players with a way of creating and managing clans without going through the trouble of going online and messing with Third party sites and going through a bunch of other things, it was all right there and ready. Secondly is the Matchmaking. I really do not understand why this would be taken out, it was so good. The aspect of this that baffles me is it's not even like it's a flawed system or something, you are still fully supporting it in Halo 2, and Halo 3! You cant even track your stats on the Bungie site! Like I said I love this game, and I would really like to see it get a lot better, but unfortunately only the folks at Bungie can do that. So I think I speak for many when I say this. Please Bungie, Hear your users out and add these features. They are amazing and without them the multiplayer feels very un-halo-ish. I mean, why be good when you could be great!

Amen. Finally I find a guy who sees that there are problems with H2V without totally bashing it, Hired Gun, and Bungie all in one impossible-to-read post. I completely agree, although matchmaking did seem to have some problems, although, what doesnt?

I have to agree with the clan system idea and not just because I am a clan leader. The clan system may not have worked or was that popular on X-box probably because the whole concept of clan warfare is new to the console crowd. They just weren't that into it. The PC crowd however is much more familiar with clans and clan based competition and I think it would be a great addition and could really get popular. I think there is a real oppurtunity they are missing by leaving it out.

I think there idea behind Matchmaking was sound and still is -- track the level of the players skill so he can be matched with other players similar to his skill. I think the Rankings was the bad idea because it shifted the focus away from the intended purpose and matchmaking became about getting high ranks even though you didn't earn them.

Another thing I would like to see is the stat tracking. At the end of the game you get to go through the stats and see how you did. But it woudl be cool if was like the X-box where you have the stats listed for a while here on B.net.
