There was very little to be disappointed with as far as Halo 2's gameplay is concerned. Arguably you may feel unhappy with the cliff-hanger that concluded the game, but that's only because Halo 2 is the middle of a trilogy...and like other great centerpieces of trilogy's (see "Empire Strikes Back" & "The Two Towers"), it GREATLY expands our knowledge of the world of Halo (both on the human and especially the Covenant side), presents some important & cool action sequences, and leaves us with more questions than answers (as the two aforementioned movies also did).
Why are people so disturbed by the idea that a video game will not offer closure?? It is clear that Bungie was strongly inspired by Star Wars (the original trilogy) and you can find many resemblances between the two in their choices of story progression.
So to all those who say they hate the Halo 2 story, what did you think of 'Empire' and if you like it, why do you accept its cliffhanger and not Halo 2's? And if Halo 2 had offered resolution, where would they have gone with the inevitable Halo 3??
