First, I'd liket to thank you for your hard work in the development of Halo 2. Unfortunately the hype got to many people and they saw fit to cut down your work due to a few glitches and the ending. They do not detract from what is a great game that everyone should agree is better than most, glitches aside.
Having said that, I have a couple of requests. First, I believe I speak for the vast majority when I say the ending was disappointing. Contextually it fits perfectly with the story line, however it gave many of us campaign blue balls. I have faith that those of you who worked hard did not want this ending, and the corporate marketing dem-- I mean gurus at Microsoft got their grubby little hands all over this project. They did not anticipate Halo: Combat Evolved to be such a huge success, so it seems they let you do what you do best with it. However, knowing the mass demand for this sequel, Microsoft decided to try to capitalize. I urge you to pass this along to Microsoft: stop being greedy! I realize this is a money-driven world, and they will not care about what I or any of the other millions of Halo fans say, but they are attempting modern day train robbery. Tell them to stop toying with us!
Second, thank you for responding so quickly with the AutoPatch. I would like to request a better Matchmaking system where you do not end up playing the same level 10 times in a row. I know more maps are on the way, which will alleviate this problem a bit, but I am sick of playing Headlong 1 Flag CTF!! Maybe throw in some team slayer in the Big Team Battles, playing to 100 kills instead of 50. How about Team Oddball? A little more variety in the Matchmaking would make for an even greater multiplayer experience. These are not complaints, merely suggestions; I am thoroughly pleased with Halo 2 as a whole.
Finally, I would like just some light shed on what will be happening. The whole February 9th thing seems like it will be another disappointment, no thanks to Microsoft. We want to hear it from your own mouths (or rather, computers) what will be happening. No specifics, we just want a resolution. We want to be able to beat the real game, defend Earth as we were promised! Cut throught he corporate bull-blam!- and give us some hope!
