I just read a thread by a group of 18 year old kids who want to develop games. Of course all they did was whine about not having the Pistol and three shot kills. I'm all for going back to what Halo CE was. I liked that game better for many reasons. I had more fun with it. That's why I like it. And that is the point to all this pickering on the forums. It's what you enjoyed the most. I loved Halo 2 as well because I didn't have to go split screen and travel home from college so we could all hook our Xboxs together. The point I'm making is that you people have to accept change. If you were making a game, awesome or suck ass, would you want to create the same old game over and over again for years? Or, would you push some limits, change some stuff here and there and create something you were interested in and also weren't bored to death with? The world changes, people change and yes, even Halo changes. So don't be a bunch of 18 year olds who want to be game designers and can't understand how boring it would be if you just made Mario Brothers for 9 years with only updating the graphics. I can see already that you are not going to make it in that industry because people would get bored and your company would be out of business.
Oh the answer is, what ever you had the most fun playing is the best game. Let's not debate about it. Like in Kill Bill, "If you're gonna compare a Hanzo sword, you compare it to every other sword ever made... that wasn't made by Hattori Hanzo."
Sorry, I went back and edited it a little, because I didn't answer the question, and the point I was making. Hopefully the few sentences above will help out in that regard.
i have never read a more beautiful post ever. very well put maybe this will stop peaple ranting about halo 2 or halo ce.
I doubt it. But we can only hope that Halo 3 will not be modeled after one or the other, but will be the collective experience Bungie has had making both games to make a new better Halo.
