You are never too young, just too immature.

You do not have to live by the sword... to die by it

When are you too young to play Halo?

When you're below the ESRB age recommendation for the game.

Well technically you have to be 17 to play... and your poll options are terrible BTW.

What she said ^^
Or 16 and over in the U.K.

If the kid can figure out the controls and successfully use them to a point where they don't suck, then I think they're fine.

But, please, if they have a squeally voice or scream at the top of their lungs when they don't get their way and die, don't let them play. I don't want to hear "OMG U ******* SUCK YOU N00B, STOP CHEATING YOU ******* ***** OR ELSE YOU *******!!! I'M GONNA KILL YOU NEXT TIME!!! SUCK MY ****!!!"

Or you know, just take away any hope of them using the voice thing and when they die constantly because they threw the controller on the ground and sit there throwing a fit, their character is standing there like a retard and gets killed, well they probably aren't mature enough.

Personally, I think the game ratings are a terrible way to judge. Since it goes by content and the content is labeled based on how "adult" it is, some blood(Halo has very little) and other factors(people die, it's violent, etc) are all considered "mature" but some parents have no problem with it, but are mislead into believing that whatever rating it is will fit their needs. It also bases ratings on certain factors that some people wouldn't care about, like how the ESRB is rating violent games harsher on the Wii because you act out the commands.

Too bad kids nowadays are complete idiots with no coordination. Nothing bugs me more than playing against someone who's so easy to beat because they have to look down at the controller every time they press the buttons.

My son is six years old, and he does pretty well against me and some of my buds. The only weapon that he has difficulty using is the sniper rifle and that's only because he lacks the patience to wait someone out.

Having said the above, I let the kid play Halo/Halo2 (killing aliens), but not Rainbox Six type-games (killing humans) or Gears of War/Doom3 (too graphic) because he is smart enough to realize that an Elite and/or Hunter isn't going to show up at our front door--in other words, he realizes that Halo/Halo2 is fantasy and cannot really happen.

How can you guys consider yourselves so "mature" when you can't even handle the voice of a little kid. It's only natural that they have such voices. From the way you guys constantly complain about how high their voices are you sound like the immature ones.

Not wanting to hear something very unpleasant does not make us immature.

I'd definitely agree with this opinion. Also, if your voice hasn't changed, or is still cracking, you shouldn't play on Live with a headset. It's reeeaally annoying to hear an 8-year-old cuss like a 40-year-old drunken sailor. (Note to all 10-and-unders: Cussing ain't gonna make you hardcore. Puh-leeze.)

It's not how they talk but how they behave.

actually ESRB is strict like that cause of stupid kids that think it is okay to go out and kill someone in real life because "they can do it on GTA" that is why the ESRB is so strict and why it should remain as video game law.

as for the kid who said he is 14 and bought halo at gamestop i know your full of crap because working at gamestop i know that any game rated M no matter how old the person is we need to ask for a form of id to prove you are older than 17 for the safety of our job and lawsuits. it doesnt't matter if your 85 year old grandfather goes in there.. he's going to get carded. same with you and everyone else buying an M rated game.

No matter what, it's always fun. If you win. So try harder random.

postID=13142544&postRepeater1-p=1]LOL[/url]

as long as they know how to play, don't trash talk and think they're the best, and don't clog the comm channel, im fine with their age.

if someone DOES do all of the above, i don't care how old they are, they don't deserve to play.

No...you have to be 17 to play without parental consent.

I have a 9 year old brother he doesn't bug anyone but he usually beats them... (Luckily they don't know his age) But really he's mature about it so he plays plain and simple you are never to young.

(I still find it funny to watch though) OH Ya and sometimes those "kids" Get tired of those ranting deep voices....

Playing Halo before the age of 6 or 7 is pretty ridiculous.

It's best if you let yourself grow up before playing it.. and that seems to be about 12, since that's when we were playing Goldeneye.. so 10 and under makes sense. Play something without gore before then. Man I started playing GTA2 and let my 5 year old brother play... his bloodthirstyness was horrible, it felt morally wrong to have him crave those things like killing sprees...

It is during these years (3-8) that kids may adopt traits of what influence them most. If a FPS is one of them, that could be bad, very bad.

Completely Agreed

All Retards are Retarded...

You Catch My Drift??????????

Yea its about maturity. If a 7 year old plays and is mature and not annoying, I am fine even if he has the squeaky voice. Then there are like 18 year olds who think there all that and are like " You suck, I did yo mama last night, go suck you dad's -blam-."

Yes I have heard those before and it pisses me off.

BTW I'm 13 and turning 14, 3 days after the release of Halo 3 ( Bow Chika Bow Wow )

I played Turok Dinosaur Hunter since I was 4 and was actually good at it. I played Halo when I was like 10.

I let my son play Halo and Halo 2 campaign since he was about 5. Won't let him online unless he is playing as my guest, but I disable the voice output so he won't hear the N word every 5 seconds. He is 7 now, and he is really good in the campaign mode, but not so hot online.

I think it is the parents responsibility to filter what their kids are exposed (which I do), and to me, Halo and Halo 2 are rated M games that aren't that bad, especially compared to other rated M games out there.

Say what you will about my fathering-skills, but playing co-op campaign or online is an enjoyable bonding time for both of us.
