I'm doing a research paper for my computer class. The topic of my paper is PC Gaming vs Console Gaming. To help me with my paper, I wanted to come on here (The ubercool Bungie forums :P) and get you're opinion on the matter. Also feel free after you vote, to give some input. I need to have some quotes for this as well. Thanks guys ;)

I voted PC. Even though Halo 2 is out. I like playing Halo 1 and Halo Custom Edition and other various games free... Until I get an Xbox

Meh, it depends on the game. If it's console only, then so be it, but if I can get obvious benefits from the PC version, then I'll take the PC.

Use this. Although PC's are the overall better choice, many people have a biased opinion, since their computer may not have a good enough graphics chip. With this in mind, cost is also a problem. A graphic chip alone can cost as much as a console, and most teens aren't willing to pay that much, plus the cost of having it installed.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that I am going to post the same thing over at the vALVE forums (Or steam forums I guess) and over at www.gamingforums.com

Therefore, I have 1 Console site poll (Bungie), 1 PC site poll (vALVE), and 1 that isn't either way (Gamingforums.com).

***EDIT***

Scratch vALVE. Forums are way too busy from all the people talking bout Half-Life 2 I guess. Geez, they should try Halo 2 don't ya think? ;) Guess I'll have to try a different forums.

Oh, thanks for that quote btw, I'm gonna use that. I was actually going to make that one of my strong points for the paper. Not only cost of a PC, but cost for upgrading and such.

PC's are definitely more versatile than console's but it is easier to take a console with you when going to a friends house or on a trip in the car than it is to take a computer (I am refering to desktops of course). Plus a computer is susceptable to viruses and hackers whereas a console is not. (Technically it is but I have yet to here of anyone getting a virus from playing a console game online). PC's have to be customized at least to a certain extent in order to play games on them (such as buying the perfect controller or joystick for your needs) but a console comes already put together with everything you need to get started gaming right away, any games that are released for a console do not frequently require hardware updates such as a new graphics card or monitor. Basically what I am trying to get at is that while PC gaming is better in many respects, consoles just appeal to the masses for their cheapness, reliability, and ease of use.

I personally like console better...there's no "press b, then y, then the up arrow, then s, then y again, and finally 6...it's so much easier just having a few buttons right there for you to press....of course that's just my opinion...
