So those of us who spend $130 don't get the book. This is a really pathetic way to get people to buy 2 copies of the game.

Did he say there were going to be loading screens between levels? What the heck are loading screens doing in Halo? There had better be one loading screen that I ever see during the main campaign, and that's at the beginning. The rest of the loading had better be done in the background where I never see it. I don't care what kind of music is being played to set a "tone", Halo has always been a non-stop straight through game from start to finish, a loading screen is going to kill that experience...I really hope this is my misunderstanding.

Loading screens?!

Sweet update. I can't wait for Halo 3 Achievments! ALthough the Halo 2 PC achivements are kinda, well, predictable, I hope for some surprises in Halo 3. But one question: Will Halo 3 support Custom Soundtracks? I mean, what's better than slaying while listening to death metal?

This is my first post ever on the Bungie forums and it's for the fact that the Legendary Edition isn't getting the hard cover edition of the book. I almost want to go back and put the 25 dollar pre-order onto the Collector's Edition and completely forget the Legendary Edition.

DVD's can get scratched and then they are worthless. They also will not last nearly as long as a printed book. I feel that if the Collector's Edition is only 10 dollars more, they can throw the book in the edition that costs 70 dollars more.

I hope you listen to this Bungie. I don't know why, but even with all the content you are putting into the Legendary Edition, I feel screwed over now because of the lack of the hardcover book.

I completely agree with you here. This is my first post, and it's because of the hard cover edition of the book. I really don't see the point in paying 70 for something on a disc that'll end up on the interview in a week or two, and a cat's head-sized Spartan Helmet. I'm really thinking of downgrading to the Collector's Edition.

So far, the Legendary Edition doesn't feel so Legendary. Come on, we're not even getting the metal case? I'm dropping down $130 for this, I'd appreciate my money's worth.

(P.S. a cats head is not even 5 inches wide, the spartans helmet is something like 10.5 inches wide)

Just remember... I keep it real...

Great update. Glad to see Halo 3 isn't on two disks, for now. Why didn't you talk about the box art? I wanted to know officially is that was the final one, because if it was, sad. I personally thought it needed work. I gave it a 'meh'. But hey, that is just me. I pre-ordered the Legendary version, so I get all the goods inside.

Yep, $25 at Game Stop.

I hope Microsoft makes like 3 million copies for launch, because I want there to be a copy when I go at midnight. I understand that a game launch is not like a system launch, but I just hope there are enough copies.

I don't post here particularly often, either. But I'm posting right now to voice my significant discontent with the lack of a hard-copy art book in the Legendary edition. In fact, in all honestly, I'm having trouble not just running down there and spending my money on the standard edition instead--when a limited-edition copy of a $60.00 video game is going for $130.00, you DO NOT skimp the customer by giving exclusive perks to lower purchase brackets. I realize that this is probably a packaging concern, but please realize that you are angering your biggest fans by teasing them with a hardcover art book. No, a digital form is not the same. Not even close. Not even something worth the money for Legendary. You may be saving money by shipping digital media instead of an actual product, but you are not doing right by your customers.

If the Collector's edition is the only way to get this art book, I'm probably just switching to regular edition, no books, no HD cutscenes, no helmets and displays. You think I, or other rational fans, are spending $130.00 + $70.00 to get the COMPLETE package? That's sad.

Hate to burst your inflatable podium Mr. (insert derogatory term here), but only Halo 1 had loading screens between levels.

An awesome update, Frankie! The Legendary Edition has a pretty impressive amount of content, and I look forward to watchin' those remastered Cinematics. That Master Chief car is also pretty impressive.

Wow, after reading that, I can't wait. I almost changed my pre-order to legendary after that one, but I can just see my friends'.

That will continue until the last possible second – with the art, engineering and design teams lavishing more love on the shipping selection of maps than ever before.

Frankie just confirmed that there will be additional maps after the game is released! sweet!

Bungie, as much as i love the Legendary Edition and will get it, as long as i preordered it early enough, I too feel jipped. For a few minutes i actually felt that i may downgrade to the Collector's edition and use the other money to buy another game, but i decided against it. The fact that people are getting a hard copy for $10 more is quite frustrating. I mean, im paying $130 for the game and then another like $20 for the S+H, so thats almost enough for two more games, and we are getting the digital copy that, as people have said already, can easily be scratched or ruined by any other means. The Collector's Edition definitely seems to give much more for your money than Legendary Edition, and this is a good example of that. And, unlike those who are making there first posts complaining about this, I have been a regular here for over a year and i was an observer of the conversations before that and ive always been a huge bungie fan. The dissappointment about this is across the board, new people to old regulars. i hope you guys reconsider this.
