I really want to get H2V, but from what I've heard I think can expect it to run horribly on my current setup. It could be some time before i complete upgrading my computer though. I expect to be finished by Christmas.

Current PC

Windows Vista Ultimate x86 + Windows XP Professional dual boot configuration
Intel Celeron D 2.4Ghz
1gb DDR RAM (mhz unknown to me)
400w Power Supply
256mb nVidia GeForce 7600GS
16x dual layer DVD ROM drive
Seagate 400gb 16mb cache 7200 rpm Hard Drive
2x 17" CRT monitors

Future PC

Windows Vista Ultimate x86 + Windows XP Professional dual boot configuration
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz
2Gb DDR2 RAM 800mhz
500-700w Power Supply (undecided)
512mb nVidia GeForce 7900GS
16x dual layer DVD ROM drive
Seagate 400gb 16mb cache 7200 rpm Hard Drive
2x 17" CRT monitors

Your current system could play it, though the Celeron D would be the performance bottleneck. I wouldn't say it would play horribly, but I'm not entirely sure how well the Cele-D would handle it. The Video Card could easily do 1024x768 at medium so long as the processor didn't chug.

Since you'd be making a large jump in both processor performance and video performance, I'd wait. But since Christmas is a long ways off, and H3 will be out by then (assuming you have an X360), I wouldn't blame you if you went ahead and got it. Again, your system in its current state could play it, but you might be limited to a lower res and lower textures until you got your new PC up and running.

Thankyou for your reply, I thought my current GPU might be a bit under par but that news is good. However the CPU has always been a burden on my system, for instance having to run Oblivion on medium settings at 10-15 fps. I guess I'll head out and buy H2V as it isn't a serious dent in the budget anyhow.

Cool. I stand by my statements mainly because my wife always gets my old desktops and my old desktop is running:
Pentium 4 2.4ghz HT (pre-the dual cores), 2GB of 400MHz DDR1 ram, 7600GS 256 8xAGP, 120GB UATA100 7200 rpm drive with Vista Home Premium (windows index of 4.3) and I tried H2V on it with 1024x768 on medium and averaged between 45-60 fps. I suspect you'll see a bit less than that given you have a celeron so you might end up playing around 800x600 on medium or 1024x768 on low to hopefully achieve the same result.

Edit: I will say, however, that in some of the large multiplayer maps, you will see some serious "chug" factor. I think that's more a problem with the game than with your machine - the very large maps in multiplayer don't feel very streamlined at all.
