i would say 20 sounds about right, dont expect a lot.

You can get an x1550 for PCI if you want. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168141030 31

that card is the best of PCI ?

  • 06.09.2007 6:47 PM PDT

What it is.

^Yes...PCI is not meant for GPU cards anyway. They are meant more for Sound cards and network cards.

PCI?!?! OMG!! You have heard of "PCI-E" right, sorry but thats like so 1995's cutting edge, your system must have artheritis and a walking frame by now.

  • 06.10.2007 5:41 AM PDT

I think he means PCI-E Cause I've never heard of a x1300 for pci.

Don't worry about your English, bro. There are native English speakers on this forum who have worse English than you.

X1300 was out for PCI a long time ago.

I'm running on an X1300 Pci right now too. I highly reccomend upgradeing to an AGP or Pci-e board though if you want over 20 fps. Pci only supports 4 pixelpipelines max, so no matter how fast you're core clock is it's gonna be restricted by those pipelines.

Search Newegg.com for a good deal on a Pci-e board or AGP board (<--they're cheap now) and a good video card. I just ordered my AGP MoBo the other day so now it's time to save up for a Radeon X1950 AGP lol. Best of luck.

Not H2V related, but how does the PCI x1300 compare to a 6200 PCI?

Though AGP boards are super cheap, it would be better for future upgrades to get a PCI-E board. It is possible to find a PCI-E board with a special "AGP Express" (also called AGR) slot. It's basically a slower PCI slot that supports AGP cards. Remember that there are plenty of cheap PCI-E cards.

This forum is the only one that you can trust to give out good tech advice. Would anyone else trust the Flood?

Yeah I know but my computer's ancient. And I could only find a cheap AGP board that would support a Socect 478 and DDR 333 Memory. That and I have very little income and I only need it for 3 more years before I buy the best of the best.

  • 06.10.2007 6:56 PM PDT

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Wait, I thought they discontinued the 478 Socket.

They've discontinued 478 when Socket T (LG775) was realeased and DDR 333 memory is the lowest supported Memory available in most major Memory websites. (excluding sites like Newegg)

That's how old my machine is.....

Anyway, nothing wrong with old tech. But you shouldn't really buy a new board for AGP. Chances are the board you currently have supports it already. Just upgrade the CPU, RAM, and Graphics Card. You may go slightly slower, but you are still set for a few more years. In fact, Sapphire is working on making the new ATI DX 10 cards in AGP.

Yeah, the 478 was something a while back, but yeah, I got a LGA775 mobo for my rig.

Nope that's why I'm upgrading, my shatty board only supports 3 PCI ports (X1300 PCI was my last leg). But I am going to upgrade to This processor as well (1Ghz faster and 3x more L2 cache than my current) and I already have 2Gb Memory. So I think I'll be pretty set for my needs once I fully upgrade.

Wait though, are you serious that Sapphire is making DX10 AGP cards?? I thought DX10 wasn't going to be supported on AGP boards....

You Sir, have just made my day! : )

Wait, I thought they discontinued the 478 Socket.

Theres still some boards floating around if you have the motivation to look for them, i got one by accident, didn't know it was for 478 till i looked at the box in the car. >:\

Wait wait wait - how good is that x1550? And also in comparison to a BFG 6200 OC?

Mmm, I've never actually used any Raedon X1K series cards, but I think it's very safe to say that the X1550 will be significantly better than the 6200.

  • 06.13.2007 12:22 PM PDT

Yeah I just compared the specifications to mine.

Core Clock
n-350Mhz
ati-450Mhz

Memory Clock
n-410Mhz
ati-520Mhz

Memory
n-256 DDR
ati-256 DDR2

I have a question about the RAMDACs - the ATI is 400Mhz but my 6200 is Dual 400Mhz - What is a RAMDAC?

Now I just gotta find either a site or nearby store that carries them - I'm in Canada
