Note
I will try to put 1 part out at least once a week. Also, I will be editing events in the movie (ie. adding a part so it will explain more or taking out part of a cutscene because I do not have time to see all the cutscenes and make notes). Please correct any mistakes I might make

Chapter 1, Part 1

High Charity, Ninth age of Reclaimation, Step of Scilence

Truth wanted to sigh.

He wanted to sigh because he hated trials and everything to do about them. To him, they were just public debates, and the public always wanted something more. In this case, an Shangheili, 'Ikolomee was charged with letting humans desecrate the holy ring and destroy it. In fact, he was half asleep for the first half of the trial. But to sigh would penetrate the grace of the chamber and conflict with the way the Covenant revered him. So he just kept his thoughts to himself.

The High Prophet of Regret's hologram, to the left of him, whispered "Enough already Truth! Make a decision, the Council demands it!" Regret was on a journey to the Sol system, to "see why the humans didn't want us there". He didn't seem to accept that the accident at the Unyielding Heirophant was just that, an accident. Regret was a good leader, and an excellent strategist, but he had an annoying tendancy to see human presence when there obviously was none.

He turned to 'Ikolomee, with conflicted feelings. The Council obviously wanted him dead, but Truth was inclined to keep him alive, just for now. 'Ikolomee was a brillint fighter and strategist, and it would be a waste to let that talent go, even with the charges. He needed a few more words to make his decision. "You were right to focus your attention on the Flood, but this human, this Master Chief..."

"Before I learned of the demon's plot, there was nothing I could do," 'Ikolomee said in his defence. But the Council did not seem to accept his answer. They started jeering names at him, one even going as far to call him "herritic", the worst disgrace in the Covenant.

"I will continue my campaign against the humans --" he started.

"No," said Truth quietly. "You will not." He signalled to the Brute jailers to take 'Ikolomee away, and as he reached the door, he added "The Great Journey is nigh, but the wheight of your herecy will stain your feet, and you will be left behind." The doors closed. He did not want to kill 'Ikolomee... yet. But his time will come, whether he knows it or not.

Covenant cruiser Regret's Sorrow, Slipspace

Deep in the reaces of what the humans called Slipspace, Regret's small fleet of 15 cruisers travelled through.

"Coming out of Slipspace in 3... 2... 1," his navigation officer said. All on the bridge felt the sudden deceleration as the ship pulled into real space.

"Sensors online!" shouted Regret, and immediately, all the vidscreens in the tightly enclosed command centre showed what was going on outside the fleet. As the sensors focussed on what they saw in front of them, Regret said "Oh, my," in a voice so soft, it might of been questioned if the Prophet, who was prone to losing his temper, had given voice to it.

Situated in front of them was something none of those present had ever thought he would see in his lifetime, his children would see in their lifetime, or their children's children would see in thier's. It could only be one thing, with the white clouds covering some of the blue waters and the land, tinted green, brown, and grey in the huge metropolitan areas that the humans had set up. It was the human's homeworld.

It was Earth.

After a moment of awed silence, the weapons master asked "Should I give the command to fire, Prophet?"

Regret grimaced. He was one of the few prophets who possesed a certain gift for in-battle strategy, and the one who knew the most about the humans. He knew how powerful these battle stations were, and the guns on them could destroy them all in seconds. "No," he said confidently. "We will attack them from the inside.

"Weapons Master, make contact with all of the boarding craft pilots. Have them get their ships ready. Alert every Shangheili, Kig-Yar, and Unggoy to get on the ships. Oh! Also, Weapons Master," he added menacingly. "Arm the bombs.

The weapons master grinned fiendishly. "Yes, Prophet."

Chapter 1, Part 2

0800 HOURS, OCTOBER 20, 2552 (MILITARY CALENDAR)
ABOARD CAIRO SPACE STATION, ORBITING EARTH

Gunns surveyed the damage. Lord Hood wouldn't be happy.

The Master Chief, Spartan 117, had managed to somehow destroy his whole armor when during the mission that only two people survived, the Chief and Sergeant Johnson, a mission that lasted three weeks. The mission debriefing was top secret, but from what Gunns could understand, the people aboard the Pillar of Autumnhad found a strange and alien superweapon and all of them died. Except for the Chief and Johnson. He decided to tell the Chief the damage.

"Shield systems, destroyed. Optics systems, totally fried. And let's not even talk about the power supply." He asked the Master Chief "Do you know how much this stuff is worth, son?"

The Chief pulled on his helmet. "Tell that to the Covenant."

The Chief was glad that he could get a break. He was good at fighting, but even he had his limits. He had spent the last four weeks in endless debriefing. Now he just wanted to get to the awards ceremony, as if he didn't have enough of those medals. He specifically asked Lord Hood not to give him the medal, that it was "all part of the job". Of course, that's what all the Spartans said. For an idle moment, he wondered where the rest of his team was doing, Will, Fred, Linda, and Kelly.

After Gunns went through the usual testing of his new Mark VII suit, he saw Johnson come down the lift. "You done with my boy here, Master Gunns? I don't see any training wheels."

"His armor's working fine Johnson," the other replied. He turned to the Chief. "You're free to go, son."

"Don't worry, I'll hold his hand." The Chief stepped into the lift with Johnson, then turned back when Gunns spoke.

"So Johnson, when you gonna tell me how you made it home in one piece?" Of course. That's all anybody asked.

"Sorry Gunns, that's classified."

"Classified, my ass! Well, you can forget about those adjustments to your C2 unit! And..." His voice trailed off as they ascended the lift.

"Well, he's in a particularly fine mood," Johnson said, amused. "Maybe Lord Hood didn't give him enough attention." They walked out of the lift and into the station cab.

This was the first time the Chief had been alone with Johnson since the Unyeilding Heirophant mission. The Chief had saved Johnson's life by destroying a crystal containing the information on how the Sergeant had survived the Flood. Johnson acknowledged this gesture silently, and the duo had made a pact.

"Heh, Earth," Johnson said, interrupting the Chief's thoughts. "Haven't seen it in years." The Chief remained silent, sensing Johnson would go on. He did. "You know, when I shipped out for Basic, the Orbital Defense Grid was nothing but theory, and politics. Now look," he went on, looking out the other window. "The Cairo is just one of three stations out here. That MAC gun can tear a round clean through a Covenant capital ship. And the Malta, and the Athens," his voice rose. "Nothing's getting past this battle cluster in one piece!" He calmed down. "Ships been arriving all morning. No one's saying much, but I bet something big's about to happen."

They stepped out of the cab into a squad of cheering Marines. "You told me there wouldn't be any cameras," the Chief said, as he saw a hovercam floating around them like a fly.

"And you told me you were gonna wear something nice!" Johnson said, commenting on his MJOLNIR suit. "Folks need heroes Chief, to give them hope. So smile, would ya, while we still got something to smile about!" And with that, the pair walked through the bridge doors...

Right into a mob of angry Unggoy and Kig-Yar. 'Ikolomee was walking to his sentence, torture by brand. Unggoys around him were chanting "Heretic! Heretic!" Before him stood the Jiralhanae chieftain, Tartarus. It figured. He had a grudge on him ever since the Jiralhanae joined the Covenant, and now that he was a criminal, he made no effort to hide his contempt. "Drawn quite a crowd," he commented, looking down to the millions of Covenant in the ampetheatre below.

"If they came to hear me beg, they will be disappointed," answered the Shangheili. He wanted to be defiant to his last breath, to shun the cuffs that bound him.

Tartarus laughed. "We'll see," he said, revealing nothing more. He bound 'Ikolomee to the energy binders, designed to make his armor come off in the most painful way, and activated them.

The former commander tried resisting as the energy crackled toward him, but the pressure was too much, and he screamed.

All officers on the bridge were clapping. Sergeant Johnson stepped forward to receive his award. "Sergeant Major, the Colonial Cross is awarded to the most dedicated officers in the UNSC. There is no higher..."

"Disgrace than what this heretic has brought upon us of this Covenant!" the Jiralhanae shouted. As he finished his speech, a brand came up from the floor. Tartarus took the iron, and gladly, with a lot of strength, touched 'Ikolomee with the brand. 'Ikolomee couldn't stand it any longer. He screamed.

Just then, an alarm rang in the bridge. "15 Covenant just outside the kill area," was all the navigations officer said.

"I'm bringing my fleet out to attack," said one lieutenant.

"No lieutenant, not by yourself. Not against a fleet that size," Lord Hood answered. "Master Chief, defend this station."

Now he had his orders. "Yes sir," he said. Then to Johnson, he said "I need a weapon."

"Right this way," Johnson answered.

Chapter 1, Part 3

0913 HOURS, OCTOBER 20, 2552 (MILITARY CALENDAR)
ABOARD CAIRO SPACE STATION, ORBITING EARTH

The Master Chief ran out of the bridge and down a set of stairs to where one of the many weapons lockers in the stations was. When there, he grabbed a submachine gun and a BR55, essentially a MA5B assault rifle with a longer barrel, an automatic zoom, and a muzzle shroud. The drawback was that the weapon only fired three rounds at a time, and the clip size was greatly reduced, only carrying 36 rounds to the MA5B's 60. As he made contact with the weapon, the familiar targeting symbol on his HUD appeared.

As he reached the bottom of the stairs, he heard a transmission from Cortana to the Malta. "How's it going, Malta?"

"Stand by... they're latched!" came the response from the Malta, indicating the Covenant had boarded. "Check your targets, watch the crossfire. They're in standard formation, little guys up front, big guys in the back. Good luck, Cairo," he added.

The Chief switched to his SMG, to take out any Elites that came through. He already had a strategy. He would use the SMG to take out the Elites, because they would need the most firepower to take down. When he came to a squad of Grunts, he would switch to his BR55, which would easily take out their methane breath masks without wasting ammo.

He saw Johnson take a turret to the top of the stairs, so he went to the front shield, to avoid getting hit in the crossfire. As he took his position, he saw a Covenant boarding ship come toward the Cairo. He heard the rumble as it latched onto the ship. A few seconds later, he saw sparks forming on the door. The door came loose, and he started firing. After the Grunts and Elites want down, he went to where another squad was forming. He dispatched them quickly, with the help of a Marine using a turret. "Thanks," he said as he turned toward the stairs.

"No problem, Chief," the Marine said. As the Chief went by he noticed plasma burns on the Marine's arm. He didn't know the effect he had on morale in the UNSC. The Marines practically admired him.

The Chief entered the first hangar. He found a few of each type of gernades and saved thos for later. After he had finished off the waves of boarders, he heard a Marine say "Look, the Malta's already driven off their borders."

Cortana asked "Malta, what is your status, over."

The man operating communications answered "I don't believe it. They're retreating, we won!" The Chief didn't expect so. The Covenant never ran away. He almost wished he were wrong as the Malta blew up before his eyes.

Just as if on cue, the hangar door blew open, and Elites and Grunts came running out. Master Chief decided to use his gernades and stuck an Elite with a plasma gernade. The explosion caused a few plasma gernades the Elite was carrying to react to the unexpected disturbance, effectively wiping out the whole bunch. The Chief followed the corridor to the second hangar. He immediately saw the plasma of the Covenant light turret. The Chief took his Battle rifle out and activated the zoom. He took the Grunts operating the turrets out and continued on to the main hangar area.

After dispatching the boarding group, a Marine said nervously "Uh oh, I think they're leaving the Athens." The Chief turned toward the window to see if they were and if so, what would happen.

The cruisers moved away from the Athens. The ship itself was scattering shots in every direction. Then the station started flaming. As the Chief watched in horror, the Athens exploded, taking 6000 lives with it. The Chief raised his hand in a salute to those who were on the staion.

"Cortana, assessment," ordered Lord Hood.

"The Athens exploded from the inside, same as the Malta. The Covenant must have brought something with them, a bomb," Cortana answered.

"Then they sure as hell brought one here," Hood answered. "Chief, find it."

The Chief went down the stairs, toward the armory. He went face-to-face with an Elite and two Grunts. He shot the Elite with a full round of SMG bullets. He killed a squad similar to the one he found on the other side of the room. He moved to the other side of the room and opened the door to the armory. An Elite appeared before him and quickly disappeared. The Chief hated these Elites with active camoflauge. He sprayed the area in front of him with SMG rounds. The Elite fell down soundlessly.

The Chief heard Gunns shouting at the top of the room, but he had problems of his own. Another camoflauged Elite was firing his plasma rifle at him. The Chief expertly fired at the direction the plasma was coming from. He made his way upstairs.

Gunns was lying on the floor, his shotgun in front of him. The Chief felt sorry for him. There were better ways to die rather than at the hands of the Covenant. The Chief took his shotgun and used it to kill the Elites.

After fighting through some passageways , the Chief got to a place where he saw Miranda Keyes and Johnson. He used a gernade to draw the Covenant that were holding them there out, and let his weapon do the rest. He made his way to the airlock. He wanted to get this done as quickly as possible and then get to the bomb. His hopes were dashed, though, as two Elites entered on jetpacks. The Chief hit their packs with shotgun rounds and moved through the zero-gee gravity.

As he reached the elevator room, he heard indistinct chatter on the communications channel. He heard Cortana and Lord Hood talking. Cortana said frantically "Sir, boarders have reached the fire control center. They have a bomb."

"Can you diffuse it?" Lord Hood asked.

"Yes, but I'll need the Chief's help to make contact with the detonator."

"Chief, get to the bomb, double time!" Hood ordered the Spartan.

He ran inside the liftr room. Suddenly, some flying robots that looked like beetles flew up the shaft, carrying plasma pistols. The Chief had some trouble with them, as they were a new addition to the Covenant that he hadn't seen before. He figured out with two rapid Battle Rifle bursts, he could take them douwn easily. As soon as he finished with that, the elevator ended its track, unloadking hordes of Grunts and Elites onto the top floor. The Chief decided that stealth was best here. He threw two unactivated frag gernades, then shot at them. The resulting shrapnel was doubly used as a camoflauge and took out any Covenant standing nearby. The Chief made his way down the lift and into space, just below the MAC gun.

The view was tremendous. The Chief got a close look at the MAC gun firing at the cruisers above him. The view was short lived, however, as a trio of Elites on jetpacks had set up a Shade on the platform above him. The Chief judged the distance, accounted for the decreased gravity, and threw a plasma gernade onto the Shade, taking the Elite with it. He made his way up a makeshift ramp, which constantly travelled up and down as the MAC gun fired. He slipped his way past the other Elites, being wary of the time, and stepped onto the lift.

As he sped up, Corntana said to him "By the way, there are a number of Elites guarding the bomb. You may need to get creative."

"And you were going to tell me this when?" the Chief asked, amused.

He didn't wait for an answer, though, because suddenly, the elevator door opened. He immediately tossed a few gernades, which took out most of the Grunts and an Elite. he quickly used the shotgun to take out the rest of the Elites, when Cortana appeared in the holoprojector, and said "Me, inside your head, now!"

The Chief took out the chip in the projector and placed it inside his armor. he used Cortana's knowledge to deactivate the bomb. "How much time was left?" he asked.

"You don't want to know," answered Cortana.

"Sir," Miranda Keyes said from her ship, "I'm engaging the fleet."

"No, soldier," Hood answered.

The Chief then had a crazy idea. "Sir, permission to leave the ship," the Chief said.

"What for, Master Chief?" Hood asked.

"To give the Covenant back their bomb."

Hood paused, then said "Granted."

The Chief dragged the bomb back into the lift, when Cortana said "I know what you're thinking, and it's crazy."

"So? Stay on the ship."

"Unfortunately for us both, I like crazy."

It was an example of the bond they shared, being part of one mind, that some of the Chief rubbed off on Cortana. Suddenly Cortana asked, as they reached the hangar "What if you miss?"

The answer was obvious. "I won't." The Chief pulled the lever that released the airlock.

it was one of the things he was trained for. As the bomb gave way to the vacuum, the Chief grabbed hold on it. The bomb flew through space, the Chief close behind. Guns barely missed him, but still he felt no fear. As he reached one ship's reactor, he quickly activated the bomb, and pushed off of it. he flew though space, his velocity increasing as the bomb exploded. As he dropped, he landed on In Amber Clad. He heard Johnson say "For a brick, he do pretty good."

And then, in a calmer tone, he heard Miranda say "Saddle up, Chief. We're taking this fight to the surface."

The Chief smiled.

The last Covenant cruiser floated, dead in space. Regret rose up and asked the Ship Master the status of the vessel. The feedback was not good. Their hull was torn wide open. They would have to stop on Earth and use the metals there to repair the ship. The sheer embarrasment of it was excruciating. But to repair the ship, they would need a distraction. "Weapons Master," he called.

"Yes, Prophet?" replyed the weary officer.

"Ready the Scarab," Regret ordered in a final tone. "Oh, and weapons master?" he added in a phrase he had heard the humans give all the time when they knew they were about to go into the battlefield with the most uneven odds. "Give them hell."

"Yes, Prophet," the master gave in reply. After he walked out of the room, Regret looked down on Earth, and laughed.

[b]Chapter 2, Part 1

0000 HOURS SEPTEMBER 1, 2552 (MILITARY CALENDAR)
ABOARD UNKNOWN COVENANT VESSEL

James woke up.

He looked about. He saw nothing but metal around him, and a few Jackals in the cell next to him. He had no clue why he was here, and how he got here. He remembered a crazy space op to retrieve a NAV database. He remembered spiralling out of control with an Elite clinging to him...

Then nothing.

He reached up to his temple to activate the mission tape, but found only his temple. Of course, he thought, Why would they let my keep my armor? He usually would have been able to break through the bars in his MJOLNIR armor, but without it he was nothing but an ordinary strongman. He resigned himself to sitting down on the bed. He drew into himself. He wasn't thinking clearly. They must have drugged him.

Just then, an Elite came up to the cell, and gestured with his hand. The cell guard open the door. The Elite growled something, which James took to mean "follow". He still couldn't get a good translation without his armor. James followed anyway, trusting his instinct. The Elite took him through winding pathways and rooms, but he kept going down. Finally, they came to a small room, only about the size of a Longsword. Then the Elite spoke. "This room is small, but it will serve our purposes.

"This room has a Covenant-human translator, so you will be able to hear anything I say, and I will be able to hear anything you say. Take heed, demon, because this also can tell if you are lying. You will speak only when asked a direct question or ordered to do so.

"You do know that I am supposed to kill you onsight, as with any human, especially a demon, right?"

"Yes, erm..."

"'Ikolomee will do," the Elite said.

"Well, 'Ikolomee, the proper term for me and those like me is Spartans, if you may," James said boldly. He figured that, if the Elite hadn't killed him by now, he could show a bit of leniency.

"You are not in the position to make any arguments," retorted 'Ikolomee. "But, I will respect that request. Now, I have decided not to kill you for a very specific reason. You should know that the planet you called Reach is destroyed, with everyone on it." He looked to James, to see if he would cry out, but James remained silent. "Now, to make my victory complete, I will take you, one of the human's "super-soldiers" to the High Prophets, on which they will do with you what they will, and they might just spare you, if they are in a good mood," he finished.

"A few questions, 'Ikolomee," James cringes, not used to not using a rank.

"Such as?"

"Where are we going, directly? I've seen a few clues to your home planet, and I can hear right now your crew talking about some "holy ring" through my suit."

'Ikolomee cursed and spoke through the communications channel to shut down the armor completely. Then, he turned formal once again and said "You do not need no know that, but suffice to say, we are going to a place, far out of reach of both the Covenant and the human race, where we hold the means to destroy your race, permenantly." He pointed at James with the last few words. "Any more questions?" asked 'Ikolomee, now looking thouroughly ticked off at James.

"No," the Spartan said quickly, knowing he had gone too far.

"Then you will be escorted back to your cell," 'Ikolomee answered, looking pleased that James knew when he had crossed the line, and that he didn't have to give away more secrets.

James was accompanied to his cell by a rather nasty-looking Jackal, who would probably as soon as have him for dinner. He once again sat on his bed, and pondered what had just occured. He was probably safe enough, or as safe as he could be inside a Covenant ship. The Capitan, as he was guessing 'Ikolomee was, seemed not to hate the humans with as much ferocity as the others of his race. He lied down on his bed, fashioned for Elites, the race he would guess would best suit a human, and again went to sleep.

Chapter 2, Part 2

1025 HOURS SEPTEMBER 21 2552 (MILITARY CALENDAR) /
ABOARD COVENANT VESSEL ASCENDANT JUSTICE

James stirred from his sleep. Something was wrong, there was a sudden tenseness in the air. He saw Elites sprinting along the hallway, and Grunts screaming in their high-pitched voices. It wasn't long until 'Ikolomee ran up to his cell and unlocked it.

He had extracted James from his cell four times in the past three or so weeks, each time to puestion him on human battle strategies, locations of planets, and the like. James always refused to submit and 'Ikolomee decided to let him stay in his cell for the past week and a half. James resorted to mental and physical excercises, in spite of the limited space. The near-horizontal cell bars, though, provided him with an area to do chin-ups.

"Come," 'Ikolomee said. Over the days, James had come to understand the rudiments of the Elite language, maybe so much he would pass off for an Elite, but he couldn't speak the toungue, his human throat and mouth hampered him.

He walked along the still strange twisting hallways, and entered a part of the ship that James had never been on before. They walked for another few minutes, and then 'Ikolomee led him to a lifeboat area.

"Now," he said, "I've programmed this pod to go to a ship that I can leave you on. I am doing this because there is one of your kind on this ship, with a group of other humans. They will likely capture the ship, and I will have to follow you. Also, if anyone on this next ship tries to kill you, tell them that the leader of the Fleet of Particular Justice wishes to settle a debt with Ship Master 'Talo of the Incorruptable. They will know what to do. When you are taken to the Ship Master, give him this card." The Elite handed the Spartan a small card, about a quarter inch in length, and three inches on the other angles. "Placed on it are instructions i wish the Ship Master to take. You will likely be placed in a cell much like the one you were just in, and in the case that I cannot make it to the Incorruptable, he will take you to the Heirarchs."

Joshua nodded acknowledgement, and stepped into the pod. 'Ikolomee closed the hatch and walked away. He had a demon to take care of.

James rocketed away from the Ascendant Justice, and wondered exactly which Spartan was on the ship and with whom. He hoped it was John. If anyone could take over the ship, it was him. He wondered, and not for the first time, what became of the other Spartans on Reach. If anything, this proved at least one of them had survived the impossible odds. He swivelled in the pilot's chair and his eyes widened.

Ahead of him was three Covenant ships, but that wasn't that important, what with the Ascendant Justice insystem. More significant, he saw the remains of a giant structure. From what he could piece together, it looked like it was once a ring, and was most likely destoyed by an explosion that caused a chain reaction that fragmented the ring of its own weight. This was quickly hidden from view though, as a Covenant cruiser had appeared right in front of him, which he guessed was the Incorruptable. Inhaling sharply, he sped toward the ship.

'Ikolomee hurried to the bridge. This was something that he had never dealed with before. A human had never boarded his ship. As much as he was inclined to obey protocol, he found he didn't want to give up his ship and the thousands of lives aboard it, most importantly, his. He opened the doors to the bridge...

And looked upon chaos. Humans were firing their projectile guns, and Unngoy, Huragok, and even Shangheili bodies were littering the floor. Soon, he was the last Covenant alive on the bridge.

Immediately, the demon fired at him. 'Ikolomee ducked behind a conduit and waited for his sheilds to recharge. He drew his energy sword, and charged at the demon. He was startled by the ferocity of the attack, and stepped back. His reflexes kicked in, and he grabbed 'Ikolomee's arms. THis was the last thing 'Ikolomee expected. He did the only thing he could do and pressed the blade closer to the demon. With joy, the blade digged into the demon's arm. The demon found more strength, and pushed him back. 'Ikolomee's sheilds died as the demon let go and started firing rounds into him. He landed in an escape pod, and the demon, thankfully, pressed the button.

'Ikolomee flew away from the ship in his pod, and smiled. The demon actually thought him a threat. The smile faded into a grimace of pain, when his injuries started to bother him. He saw that the captive demon's pod had docked onto the Incorruptable and he hoped that the human was still alive. It would not do for his only chance at redemption to have gone for good. He sighed and waited to join with the other ship.

Chapter 2, Part 3

1150 HOURS SEPTEMBER 21 2552 (MILITARY CALENDAR) /
ABOARD COVENANT SHIP ASCENDANT JUSTICE

The doors opened. James stepped out and looked around. Nobody was there, so he would just have to walk around until he found a guard without a weapon. As he rounded the corner, an Elite dressed in red armor, which Joshua learned was a major officer on a ship, bumped into him. Immediately James knocked the gun out of the Elite's hand. The officer registered shock for a half second, and battle reflexes kicked in. The Elite had no weapons on him, so he resorted to hand-to-hand combat. They struggled for a few minutes, until finally, James had the Elite pinned.

"Now," he said, trusting the Elite had a translator. "Will you take me to whoever runs this place?"

"Why should I listen to you, demon?" the Elite spat at James, still holding contempt even on the ground.

"Because the leader of the Fleet of Particular Justice wants to settle a debt with Ship Master Tano of the Incorruptable," James answered.

The Elite reacted to this with a great amount of shock. Once he was convinced that the Elite wouldn't harm him, James let him up. "Now," he repeated, "Will you take me to the Ship Master?"

The Elite looked confused. This was a situation never dealt with in the history of the universe, a human inside the bridge of a Covenant ship. James was convinced, however, that the matter of honor would outweigh the so-called "heresy" of bringing a human on board. The Elite silently nodded and walked away, so James followed.

They walked down a hallway, and James asked “What is your name, officer?” The Elite didn’t seem to understand, so James tried again. “What do your comrades call you?”

The Elite nodded and said “You may call me Voro ‘Imramraree”. The Elite officer then briskly walked towards the bridge, which was in the heart of the ship.

As they reached the bridge, James noticed the lack of Jackals aboard the ship. He pondered it, but then considered that they were all in the cells like the Jackals across from him. The two entered the bridge, and immediately, a number of Elites stood up and shouted. His escort, Voro, motioned for them to sit down. The bridge crew did, not taking their eyes off of James. One Elite, which James took to be the Ship Master, did not, but asked Voro “Who is this demon, and why is he still on my ship?”

The Ship Master had a loud voice, and the crew cringed at the decibel level of the outburst. James stepped forward and said just as loud as Tano "I am SPARTAN-129, known to my comrades as James. I am on this ship because the Leader of Particular Justice wants to settle a debt with Ship Master Tano of the vessel Incorruptable."

Tano looked at James, surprised. There was no sound in the room for a moment, and then Tano laughed. " Saro 'Ikolomee wants to settle a debt with me? He is asking for quite a lot out of me. I should hang the son of a--" then something James didn't understand "right now. But still, where is 'Ikolomee, demon?"

"He put me on an escape pod. One of my kind had boarded the ship and was coming close to the bridge. 'Ikolomee had thought to abandon ship, but was walking to the bridge when I left the Ascendant Justice."

Tano looked shocked. "You are sure he didn't say anything about destroying the ship?"

"No, when I had linked with your ship, the Ascendant Justice was still intact, and it will probably still be, if you check your scanners."

Tano quickly ordered the crew to bring a viewscreen online. After looking at it, he commanded the crew to fire the pulse lasers. The other vessel swerved, and James knew that John, or whoever was on that ship, had taken it.

After a few minuted of heated battle, Tano said "We will wait thirty units, and then we leave the system with or without the fool who lost the Ascendant Justice. Now, take the demon to a cell."

Voro was the one who took James to his cell. Along the way, James asked "How long is thirty units?"

Voro waited a minute before answering, probably doing the math, then said "Fifteen minutes of your standard minutes. Then we will jump into Slipspace to warn the heirarchs about the destruction of the holy ring and the capture of the Ascendant Justice, with or without your savior." Voro left him in his cell. James lay down on the bed as he did only a few hours ago and did something that he had had to do for quite a while now: wait.

By the way Bungie, if this is the wrong place to put this, then tell me where to put it.
