I had the same problem here with my 360, so I called Microsoft technical support and this is what I had to do in order to play the maps, Which by the way work fine now. Basically, you first go to the dashboard and scroll to the systems tab. then go to memory, hard drive, games, halo 2, and delete EVERY SINGLE MAP PACK DOWNLOADED, even the first downloadable map pack bonus, killtacular, and all the others, theres four total. anyway after you delete all the map packs, go to back to the systems tab on the dashboard. then go to memory again and on the screen that shows your hard drive press the "Y" button. it should take you to a screen that says Rename at the top. on that screen press these buttons in order for this to work,
" X, X, LB, RB, X, X"
a side screen should pop up asking to fix your hard drive or something, press yes, and then wait for it to complete before restarting, it might restart itself, after that you can go on to the halo 2 main menu, sign in, go to xbox live and then scroll down to download content. Just re-download all the maps over again, since they are FREE now!!! might take a while, but it should work!!! It worked for mine!!!
then you can be back to getting those HEADSHOTS!!!
