A few things.
1: I am smart, and I strive everyday to be smarter. Which is more than I can say for one such as you who failed to properly research the subject he's trying to talk about.
2: How does making this thread educate the noobs around here? When all the other threads and comments with the same general theme have resoundingly failed to accomplish that task?
3: If this DX9 eX doesn't work better than DX9, why did they use it on Vista? Sorry, but the reason you get poor performance with a DX9 card is because the video card companies themselves dropped the ball on driver support for Vista. And now they're trying to play catchup.
FYI: DirectX is a Microsoft product. Therefore the responsibility falls to Microsoft to make sure it works properly, NOT the video card companies.
1: Wanna bet Wannabe
3: Wrong. I'm using a 8800GTX. That is DX10 card. not a DX9. Also Video card companies have been working drivers for vista since early beta 2 of windows vista. I know because I was in beta. How about You do your research for once in your life. Either then play catch up in grade school.

Btw, it's DX9L not DX9 eX, unless they changed it. And the real statement should be, Halo 2 Vista doesn't use DX10 features, because in reality Vista uses DX10, but emulates DX9 into DX9L. So you're using dx10 but using dx10 to use dx9(if that makes sense, lol). All in all the game uses DX9.
Where do you get DX9L? its DX9 eX, and can post a screenshot or you can just do run dxdiag in Vista, your choice.
