Subject: Way to fix the quitting problem.

its too bad stupidity isnt painful.

just because you suck ass with a weapon doesnt mean Bungie should remove it.
getting owned by a weapon also isnt an excuse to complain about it.

so we should leave it the way it is? because thats what happens in every BTB game i play. if my team scores once, we win. because the other team quits.

You know what, I was a dedicated Halo 3 Beta player and quitting was still a problem in Halo 3 Beta that was only around for a month. Seriously, people will always quit. At least when Big Team Skirmish was ranked, quitting was far less and we didn't have to deal with Slayer games.

Yeah, people will always quit, but it's one thing in a BTB if a person quits and the teams are 7 vs. 8. It's another when it's 4 on 4 and two of your four teammates quit.

Yes, people will lose power, things will get unplugged, etc.--but my idea of 5 quits within a certain period of time gets you "marked" as a quitter accounts for the accidents that occur.

The game here is Halo, not Quito. If people are playing, they ought to play rather than spend time quitting, no?

Hopefully Bungie and MS can do something to make quitting less attractive in Halo 3 multiplayer. Losing levels, getting marked, whatever...

There's no honor in quitting but some folks just don't get that. Must be poor home training.

The problem isn't with people quiting long games, it's with people getting their asses kicked. shortened games only means people quit faster.

I knew it! If skilled players would just stop kicking a$$es of less skilled players, the problem would be solved. :-D

Seriously, it seems to me some of the folks who quit are those of slightly higher rank (compared to their teammates) who get behind the lead and decide to bail out, leaving those of us whose a$$es get kicked regularly to suffer even more severe defeats. People are just too darn competitive and don't realize they can't win every game.

That is exactly right. It is never just a good player who quits out. It is always those people who think they are "the best players" and they think they are getting screwed. I have quit a couple games in the past because of it being a horrible host or soemthing, but never just because I was a tad behind. If you can't take a loss, then why are you playing this game at all?

The cold hard truth about your "idea" is that the games are not long enough to offer a real match. Once one team takes control, the game is over before a power shift can occur. 95% of the quitters are on the team that is drastically losing (or about to) and thus only bring you more quickly to a new, real challenge. The only quitters that I have problems with are the ones who quit in an evenly balanced game, or when you are behind by 1 in an objective match, then it throws off the flow of the game. But when they quit when they are bound to lose, no real harm is done.

Can i Suggest to Bungie to give like a quitting percent or ratio, some type of way of letting know player to be able to tell to see if that person quits a lot. A feedback systems that tells other player how much you're likely to quit or how many games you quit, what type of game you quits most of the time. Build a award system for those who don't quit.

They come up with rp for Halo 3. You lose some everytime you quit.

He was making a point about how fast people quit.....don't lose. KEEP it together. You CAN do it.

I love it:

Pure luck wins the game every time!!.

I mean, its not that hard holding the odd ball for 30 seconds, if you get really lucky once. All you have to do is kill the whole enemy team once (lets say you spawn near a rocket launcher and sniper! Piece of cake).... and you win!!! Boomshakalaka.

Not to mention power weapon grabbing in Slayer.

And this way we can all have fun staring at "yellow matched player boxes" instead of playing Halo 2. An excellent idea!! Although I personally feel like actually playing , I guess some of us might like waiting.

I understand their logic. If you don't quit, you get a crappy KD ratio like me, because of going 10 and 37 in games you lost.

that dude made me remember something that happens all the time in matchmaking! no offence americans but WHY do you practically put jihads on people when they kill you and take your weapons? you go back and kill them for taking your weapon and then you teabag and abuse them just because they ended your killing spree or whatever! what is up with that?!?! get over it! they killed you! whoop de doo! who cares? (maybe you but we obviously dont) plus another thing that doesnt really make any sense in this forum but why do americans go crazy over triple kills? i mean WTF guys?!?! its a triple kill! god... i mean i understand if you go crazy over say a kill frenzy but anything miniscule like a triple should mean you go and kill yourself... ive noticed aussies get killamanjaros much more often than yankys... why is that i wonder? most yankys are good ill admit that but when you get these noobish americans that only win cuz of their good servers it just pisses me off major like! and then they rub it in your face. and then they come up in the next match and reckon they are gonna own you. then you smash them cuz you got a good server and they report you for cheating and stuff like that. god sorry guys i just had to get all that off my chest... thanks for listening dudes and dudettes.
