Whenever I get into a game with more than 4 people in it I lag out and this is only happening in halo 2, all other games work fine.

All I can play is double team now and even then I lag out sometimes because if I get host I have to quit imediatly to stop from lagging out.

So what gives?

how are you connecting to the internet? you might want to test your Connectivity and make sure you NAT settings are open and if that doens't take care of it give xbox live a call and see if they let you know if you need to configure any firewall ports on your actual router

My NAT is open and trust me it's just halo 2.

No other games have this problem, not even halo 3.

So does anyone actually wanna help?
When I call 1800-4my--xbox they just say nope not our problem that's your routers problem.

Then they give me a number to Netgear and they say nope it's not our problem it's your ISP.

So I call them, they come out to my house and don't do -blam!- and say it's my connection.

Well that's bull because I've played H2 since it came out perfectly fine up until recently.

That's an odd problem. Do you think the game is giving you host each of these times maybe? It seems to me to be the only way the number of players in the game could affect your connection. Have you tried connecting directly into a modem, and were the results any different? What other devices are on your network? I've heard of hosting and lagging out problems where two xboxes are on the same network but one is in a DMZ.

Open NAT setting. Oh man I dream of such a thing.

I have a 2 in one Netgear modem/wireless router. I've tried plugging it straight in and the same thing happens.

I don't get host every game, but I still lag out most of the time. When I do get host I lag out before the game even starts.

On my network I have my 360, my laptop, and my home computer. When I'm on XBL all the rest of my computers aren't online, I make sure of it.

Also my xbox is on the DMZ with a static IP and all the ports for XBL are forwarded to it.

Now in any other game I can play normally. In the beta I could play btb and talk to everyone on my team just fine.

It frustrates me when I'm trying to play H2 challenge.

Ok here is what you do
1. open internet browser

2.put your ip adress in you url bar if you dont know to your ip go to search whatsmyip on google and it will tell you

3. it will come up asking for you login and p/w if you have never done this before you user name will be Admin and the password will be Admin

4. once you are loged in go to gaming options open your ports and take your security off sever make sure the first port you have open in gameing is the same ip as your xbox, Find your ip for your xobox in network settings change the ip and open port

5.Click save changes and you should be all set NOTE: every time you unplug your router it takes you back to defult this will cause alot of nextwork problems threw Halo

Please let me know if this has helped any of you or if you have any problems or problems with anything els :)
Goodluck

Uh if you just read my last post you would know I have done everything I can.

I know my IPs and passwords, I'm not dumb.

My firewalls are off and my ports are forwarded.
