Help. That’s all I can say… well, actually;

Alright, so, I’m new to X-box Live, I’m not used to playing with a battle rifle.

Does anyone out there have any tips as to how to get better? I’m so used to playing with a shottie, that I absolutely suck with anything else. As a matter of fact, when I try to play live everyone on my team attempts to kill me or melees me. (It’s not my fault.)

Also, I’m not a guy… stop calling me one.

Just practice. You could go through campaign on harder settings and use a larger variety of weapons so you can get used to them but ultimately, you'll just need to spend time on Live. The biggest tip I can give you is to always aim for the head. A battle rifle can kill in 4 shots to the head. Don't get frustrated if it takes you some time to get good. We've all been there.

I'm not the one getting frustrated... it's my team mates and just about everyone. I mean, look at the few games I've played... I've died 498 times, killed 99 times. As a matter of fact, I'm on campaign... on a harder setting... I've beaten it several times.

I don't want to sound like an idiot, which I'm sure I've already accomplished. I'm just trying to get some help.

The only thing we can do is tell you to practice. Go to the Halo 2 Wiki Battle Rifle page. It has some stratagies for the other weapons as well.

Well, would you suggest going into training? I mean, I've been practicing and I've been having my fiance play with me... yeah, he's been in most of my games, you'll notice if you check. He's been playing longer than me and he's not really much help when it comes to practice. That and I've been working at getting my headshots, but... I'm not so great at that... it takes me too long to get it lined up right... I use a sensitivity of 10... Could that be my problem? I feel odd using a lower sensitivity, I feel all slugish and whatever.

Just remember, I'm new at Halo, really... I've been playing for maybe four months, I'm just looking for help, because certain people can't give it to me. ^^

Obey.

Definitely go with the lower sensitivity. No lower than 2 or 3, but no higher than 5. I've used default (except look inversion) settings for every Halo game so far, and I think I've done quite well. As a side note, DO you use inverse Y-axis??

Definitely play in team training/BTB slayer. Get familiar with the maps and weapon locations and learn how to BR and grenade effectively. The rest is just practice.

I've gotten most of my kills with Nades, I'm used to that. BR, however... I've never much liked because of the slow shot/3 shot thing. I know where most of the weapons on the maps are, thats no problem. ^^ But, last time I even tried to go into training... it was always assult or ctf. I did well on those, or atleast I think so. Until the betrayals start... Lol.

Do BTB slayer. It's unranked and plays only Slayer variants (I'm pretty sure)

Okay. Well, thank you guys. ^^ I feel stupid now, imagine that. Eh, whatever. I can just blame it on the fact that I'm a girl and I used to hate fps's.
