guys have you ever noticed that the assult rifle bullets appear on top of of the AR cylinder instead of from the actually cylinder?
what is up with that anyways?

In all fps games to my knowledge, you shoot from the top of your head.

It's just a problem with syncing the recoil being simulated and the effects and such for the weapon, if you pay close attention to most fps, from the 3rd person perspective of one you see this problem applies to them all.

Making the gun expel bullets from the barrel to the target would probably involve many more calculations for the computer that would lag the living daylights out of your platform.

Nobody likes lag... Unless they are exploiting the game with it.

Dangit, now Im gonna watch my bullets fly out and not the enemy! I think youre looking at the flashlight spot, its just under the barrel.

If you ever wondered how in almost every FPS someone can shoot you only when their forehead is exposed then this is why. If the bullets came from the gun itself a few inches down then I suspect it would cause something more annoying. Say if you fire at someone in your line of sight from over a hill on Bloodgulch then the bullets will land on the tip of the hill rather than go over it because where you're aiming with the crosshair doesn't line up with where the gun is pointing.

Well put, Desert Fox.

This is just an old little nuance about the game that's always been there, much like the ladder animations (or lack there of). You deal with it. It just reminds me how rushed Halo was.
