Subject: H2 Challenge? What a jip!

I was hoping someone could explain why this challenge is only open to North America. Just seems a little unfair that these things tend to exclude uk/Europe, when we have been loyal Halo fans from day 1 as well, in fact it is the only game I really play, sure theres been others but I was thinking about halo while playing them honest…no they weren’t as good as you…you were the best!…Sorry a little distracted there, anyway what gives Bungie do we not register on your gaming radar now that you have our money?!?!?!

Well the thing is, is that competitions like this are a marketing device. For one, they are never going to spend as much on marketing outside the US as it is the most lucrative market. Yes we should all be treated the same because we all paid for the game, and XBL is a worldwide service - if they want our money they have to treat us equally. But with things like this on the side, they simply aren't going to spread the net wider than their home market. Secondly, it's not worth the while of companies to run competitions internationally because of the laws covering competitions differing vastly from country to country.

I suppose just seems that uk/europe and to an extent australia seem to be the forgotten gaming continents...but what can we do not like they will do anything about it as i said they know we're gonna pay money any wya for there crap so why bother doing anything special for them...we'll bar a free poster on lauch day... just what i want!

That wa smy point we get the option to play in the matchmaking, you can even register if you go to the xboxlive tournaments site, if you go in the us version, when regestering it even gives you the option of the countries, but teh terms and conditions state only open to us/canada (exculding a couple places in the states)! it just makes me feel a little excluded, as i said have an xbox frome day 1 and the 360 played halo 1 to death, and all i really play is halo2, even played all the other bungie games i could btu there dosent seem to be any sort of stuff like this goes on in PAL territories...well apart from playing the games themself, which are awesome btw!

Kevin's post = breath of fresh air.
Take it from this guy people, he knows what he's talking about.

Second accounts are NOT cheating:

Its a freaking joke anyway, lol. I went in last night to see what it was about and I got put into an FFA with default weapons on Desolation. These kids were so bad that I just stopped trying and started laughing at them halfway through the game and I still won.Kids were running across the top of the map at me while I had a BR and OS and all they had was an SMG and they actually thought they could kill me. How do these people actually thing they could win this thing?

This is a RETICULE, and that is a RETICLE. I'm using the latter to aim. And what are you using?

LOL

Sad but true.

To be honest, I wouldn't have signed up even if I could. Cheaters are running amok in that tournament. Or was it bridgeament? Standbyament? Heck, whatever.

Aside from connection issues, there are legal issues. In the Arena tournament on WoW, various states in the US aren't even allowed to be in it due to some stupid part of the law saying that you can't participate in contests that you pay for.

Hm... suprisingly, Ive been on xbl for 2 weeks, and havent got cheated yet... Strange, considering all the -blam!-in the general community does about it...

"We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We're evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that."

"Do you mean the Host Challenge?"

LOL, yes. That playlist is a magnet for every abuser of Halo 2 on the Live network. I plan on entering the playlist and playing one game daily so as to be entered in the sweepstakes, since I know that every BXB/BXRing/standybying/Hosting jackwad on Live is going to form an impenetrable wall between me, and getting anywhere in the actual tournament.

I honestly don't think the cheating (the "hard" stuff, like outright modding) is as rampant as people think it is in the normal playlists, but the H2 challenge one seems to be as bad as people say it is.

Well I've played 13 games of it, and haven't been cheated once yet. I have witnessed one BXR and a little bit of lag one one game. It's a playlist just like any other. Maybe there's cheating in it, maybe I'm not high enough in it yet, but as of right now, from my personal experience, it's alright.
