Well, I was just playing Halo 1, and I noticed in the cutscenes that Halo seemed to be lit.. somehow. There was no sun or any sort of star nearby. This applies to both Halo 1 and 2. If any of you have read Larry Niven's: Ringworld, the design of the ring is that it encircles a sun, and thus rotates around it.

So how is it that all the rings are lighted somehow?

Most people don't really wonder about that sort of thing, but I'm curious if the creators of Halo infact forgot this technocal aspect, or if there is some other lighting method used.

Well there is a sun and it lights up a portion of it while leaving the rest in darkness. Truth and Reconciliation and Two Betrayals was a night mission and every other mission was clearly lit by the sun in you looked up to the sky. The cutscenes may not show it but if you leave the game at the main menu the camera will eventually rotate to a tiny glimpse of the sun.
