Has anyone noticed that there is an unusually large amount of crap on these forums? I know I have. People; you need to stop being so arrogant and stupid. I am tired of responding to people who have the wrong idea about things. I don't like it when people ask questions based on assumptions that they have made. I also don't like it when people talk about the plot for Halo 2, acting like what they are saying has been confirmed by Bungie. The fact is, Bungie has said nothing about Halo 2's storyline, and yet, I hear people saying that the Flood will make an appearance in Halo's sequal. It irritates me to my very soul. I am almost embarrassed to show up on these forums in fear of looking like an unknowing phillistine. I have heard things so stupid, you just want to die. I actually heard someone say they should put a scope on a shotgun! I know!

Well Bungie said in an old article in EGM that its 100% certain that The Flood will be back.
But I understand what your saying though. It makes me mad too. The fact is, people will continue to post these kinds of things whether we like it or not. So we either need to deal with it, or just go somewhere else.

No, Bungie has not confirmed that the Flood will be back in Halo 2. I don't care what EGM or what anybody has said or what somebody thinks someone has said; Bungie hasn't said a damn thing about the Flood. Everything you hear is just conjecture! The only reliable source is Bungie themself. Don't listen to anyone else! As they said, the story is a closely guarded secret, and if they said there will be Flood in Halo 2, that would completely ruin it. Let me make this clear; I repeat: BUNGIE HASN'T SAID A DAMN THING ABOUT THE FLOOD!

hmm......the article was based on an interview with jason jones himself, so i think ill belive it. it seems very likely anyway since we will be on another halo installation

I am still not quite convinced. I am wondering why Bungie hasn't said anything since then, assuming Jason did, in fact, say that. This is what they said in the updated FAQ in question about the plot for Halo 2:

A: What is the plot of Halo 2?

Q: The full story is a closely guarded secret but so far we can confirm that the Covenant forces will attack Earth, and Master Chief will take the battle to the Covenant. As with the first Halo, there will be a few new twists that you definitely won't expect.

I'd assume that if they said that the Flood were 100% guaranteed to come back, that they would at least say something here, when asked directly about Halo 2's plot. I have every Official Xbox Magazine for the past couple years and they have said nothing about Bungie telling them that the Flood will return. I will also state for the record that OXM gets the grittiest Halo 2 info.

Haloruler, how do you know there will be another Halo? And the latest EGM article on Halo 2 didnt say -blam!- about the plot. All you are doing it proving Lathen's point of people taking their own accusations as fact.

In Halo i like the idea of everyone vs everyone but i hated The Flood as a group.
So since they got 6 months, i hope they havent been doing anything like adding The Flood to Halo 2.

Another thing i find annoying was i made a topic about ODST's and asked about them since i know nothing about them and wondered if anyone else did, i said i would also like to see them in mutiplayer.
So i come off to look at the topics, with in 10 mins i had someone doing a poll saying if ODST should be in mutiplayer then another about ODST.
And at the end i wondered was my topic infected by the flood or something, there all making there own after mine.

Bungie has confirmed that another ring-world would come into play; that is not to say that that means we will be battling the Flood again. I will point out that magazines like to twist people's words and make great assumptions of their own.

Haloruler, you said it was 100% guaranteed that the Flood would be back. That completely negates the fact that is an old article.

Has anyone noticed that there is an unusually large amount of crap on these forums?

You make a valid point--just read the titles of the posts on the first page of any forum. The spelling on just about ANY post is just horrendous, let alone the content. Consider the fact that a good chunk of posters have a limited amount of obligations in terms of responsibility and a lot of free time and you can see how the problem arises.

However, I have to offer a defense as well. To counter my own assertion, many of the responsibility-free individuals may not even be old enough to be expected to have said duties. In other words, not everyone is a 30-something overweight individual living with or off of his parents.

Second, and probably most importantly, Halo 2 will probably be a defining game in terms of, well... in terms of anything. It's understandable to me, then, that people get excited and can't control themselves. A good solution would be to ask everyone to read every post 3 times--at the least--before he decides to post it, both for reasons of grammatical/spelling atrocities and for inanity of content. No, it won't solve world hunger, but it might clean up the deluge of garbage that spawned the idea of creating more forum categories in the first place.

Basically, it's inevitable that people are going to say stuff you think is dumb. Some will never get the message and will continue to make post after post with 0 or 1 replies--the 1 reply of course being them responding to their own post. People drive dumb, do dumb stuff in the grocery store, even say the dumbest things you can imagine--do your best to take it in stride, or just avoid it altogether. Frankly, the only realistic way to avoid dumb things on the forum is to not click on the forum.

I doubt there will be another FLood attack in H2, wahts the point unless they're goign to infect all of Earth....WHoa....But anyway, I think Bungei has something completly new in store for us (actually, thats what im jsut hoping for). But either way it'll be freakin awsome, so im not worried. If there is flood, now We got dual wielding to take em out quicker.

Is it really that much to ask people to put a little thought into what they say? I don't think that age is an issue; many younger people can carry on a perfectly intelligent conversation. I happen to be a representative of the younger crowd. If we all just quite with assumptions and start listening to Bungie alone, we would have a more enjoyable forum.

I think people have heard enough of my two cents for one evening. Let's just try to keep the threads tasteful. Hey, we may even get some relatively profound responses.
