It's the hard heart that kills...
No modding required.
However, before you plunk down $80 for this thing, here's my experience with it:
It has no dead-zone adjustment. None.
The lag on the input through the adapter makes it really difficult to aim accurately and largely impossible to snipe.
It acts squirrelly with some mice.
It has no capability to store more than one set of custom button mappings other than the default factory settings. (So, if you wanted to used your XFPS adapter for Gears of War, you'd have to remap the custom settings, overwriting what you'd previously set up.)
Overall, the old FragJoy adapter for the original Xbox blows that XFPS adapter away totally. Is it better for folks like me who absotively, posilutely cannot frackin' play with a console gamepad? Yeah. But, if you play well with the gamepad already, the XFPS ain't going to help you any.
