Subject: Can you use the 360 controller on halo 1 pc?

We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
(Led Zeppelin were the original Halo fans)

I understand it doesn't automatically adopt the 360 controller like 2 does, but will it recognize it for me to map the buttons myself? I'm asking because i only have wireless and would need to buy a wireless receiver. I apologize for any repetition of this question but i can't find the answer.

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh, Yes, you can but you have to map the buttons individually, e.g: use, reload and pickup have to have seperate buttons, i know, pain in the ass.

Actually, no. I have all three of those functions mapped to the X button.

It's the hard heart that kills...

Yep. You can use it. My brother plays Halo Custom Edition using a wired 360 controller on his PC. He said it takes some getting used to as the game is designed w/ mouse and KB players in mind.

Not really, there's just no auto-aim and no built-in controller calibration.
