yes they should bring it back because halo:ce is still awesome and it's awesomenes would be X9000 TIMES BETTER and if you think this isn't true then your not a real halo fan nuf said.
If you're a real fan then by now you'd understand why they wouldn't, won't, and can't make this game online - geez I can't believe the people that post all this stuff as to why they should.
1) Bungie doesn't like Halo 1 Multiplayer that much anymore - there's a reason why certain things changed drastically for the following two games.
2) Why do people view the pistol as balanced? The most ridiculous reason I've ever heard for that is that everyone starts out with one. So what if everyone spawned with a rocket launcher that could clear the entire map? Would that be balanced too?
3) This is a 6 year old Xbox game and you want them to remake it for the 360 with online capabilities!? Alright, I know there are some games that are classics that people still play to this day, but c'mon - an Xbox-Live version of Halo 1 is just stupid to think about at this point in time.
If you really want to play halo online - do what everyone else is doing - get XBC or get Halo PC - they may not be the best alternatives, but they're the only ones you got.
people these days are soo -blam!- retarded, if ur a real fan this, if ur a real fan that. well if ur a real fan then u would know how great halo 1 is and how much better it is than halo 2 and so far, halo 3
1)bungie doesnt like halo 1 multiplayer anymore???? where the -blam!- did u get that bull-blam!- from
2)the pistol is balanced and for that very reason, cuz everyone starts with one, and it is good for every situation. that way there is no weapon whoring, like in halo 2. in halo 2 the whole game plan was rush the snipe, rush sword, rush rockets, and then if u didnt get those weapons u were stuck with the -blam!- smg, have a fun time, is that balanced?? by having everyone start with a pistol, u could always get out of a situation, there was always a chance that you would defeat the guy with rockets, sniper, etc.
3) yes the game is six years old, and ur point is........? so ur telling me that just cuz a game is old they shouldnt remake it?? then y do they make doom, castlevania: SOTN, Contra, etc for xbox live arcade, those games are even older???
my final point is yes, they should make this game for xbox live, dont change the graphics, dont change the glitches (BLB, backpack reloading, etc), dotn change the maps, but add new maps, also maybe the save film feature should be added as well, but nothing else. now that's a recipe for an amazing game
OKAY I was ready to explode on you, but I've decided to tone myself down a bit. Since you call me retarded for saying Bungie doesn't like Halo 1's Multiplayer - I'm guessing you've NEVER EVER read one Halo 2 or 3 Weekly Update that included them, nor ever seen any new footage that Bungie has out for Halo 3. AND THAT is why I say 'If you're a real fan by now you'd understand'. Don't go shooting your mouth off about things you don't know.
And no - as I said - the pistol isn't balanced because everyone else starts out with it. You can put SOOOO many examples to that reason why, such as the rocket one I included. This weapon did everything. Of course, there are games where one weapon stands out amongst the rest. But sometimes it causes alot of problems. Let's take Counter Strike - probably the most popular multiplayer shooter in the world. You think everything there is perfect? The Deagle drops you faster (of course, with the way the game works) and what about the AWP - there are many many servers that outlaw it. Well what does Counter Strike have to do with Halo 1, you might wonder. Nothing really, I'm just showing you some examples of why certain power weapons are no fun for alot.
I play Halo PC, I never drop my pistol, I rarely cease to not place first. It becomes very boring after a while, and there are periods where I don't play for months because of how boring '*bang* *bang* *bang* You killed New001, repeat' becomes. Once I get Vista, I doubt I'll be playing Halo PC anymore. I honestly don't see how some of you can keep doing this all day. Of course, me liking Halo 2 over Halo 1 is my opinion, but with your argument, I guess I'm not a real fan.
The reasons those games came back are because I'm sure those games don't have an online matchmaking, okay? Halo 1 cannot support it - it came out long before Xbox Live did - and without recoding a large portion of the game, they cannot add online matchmaking. Yet again, you'd have to read some of the early updates to realize that.
You can add so many things to this 'if you're a real fan' statement
What about 'if you're a real fan, you'd see why Bungie tried to push Halo towards a new direction'
'If you're a real fan, you'd see why Bungie continues to make new games, because their previous ones are successful (Halo 2-Halo 3)
'If you're a real fan, you'd know why remaking the exact same game, with the exact same graphics, with the exact same glitches, and the exact same maps is the most confusing stupid thing ever, because what's to be gained from it?'
Why bring back Halo 1 exactly as is, but with Halo 3's saved films feature? You know what. I have an idea. Go start your own company, and ask Bungie and Microsoft if you can port Halo 1. Because A) They never will. B) If the did, we'd be playing the exact same game, just with more people at more times, C) Bungie has better things to do than please you people with your pistol addictions. Just please, let go, give up. It's never happening, and it never will. Bungie doesn't like the pistol, so they will not bring back Halo 1 especially after developing Halo 2 and Halo 3 to further advance Halo 1. Why go through all that trouble, just for you guys to think that they would say 'Okay, guys, our new games sucked. Let's just remake Halo 1, throw some of our newest features in. I cab't believe we wasted 6 years of our time when we could have just remade Halo and moved to Acapulco'
Guess who would be the only people buying this new Online-enabled Halo? The only people who don't know how to let go and move on. Why is that, you see? Well, not only would this game suffer having some of the worst graphics on the 360, but to people that gave up Halo long ago because of no online - I doubt that several years later they'd be on their knees in tears of happiness.
I've said it once, I'll say it once again. BUNGIE WILL NOT REMAKE HALO 1. Bungie is about moving forward, as any company is. They, along with Microsoft realize that halo 1 with Xbox Live would sell, but just how much? And look did Bungie port Halo 1 to the PC? No. They have other things to worry about *CoughHalo2Cough*. Did they port Halo 2 to PC? No, again, they have other things to worry about (Just in caase you haven't realized yet, Halo 3)
Halo 3 is Bungie's newest game. They are proud at how far they've come from Halo 1's success, and they are trying to improve on it. Why go so far only to turn back just for the ones that got left behind?
Think about that.
