okay, i am a little confused. i can download the map packs ( i keep getting a failed attempt thing) but that makes since cuz im on a 360 and i have no money tied to this account. but i cant join the playlists that bungie said were not going to require the new maps (aka double team. etc)

so if someone can fill me in that would be great. im just kinda out of the loop cuz i just came back after bieng gone for like a year. thanks

Well, if you have been gone for a year or so you might need to download the older map packs, which are free. It sounds like there are some older maps missing from your game that will not allow you to play.

I am having a similar problem. It won't let me play Team Slayer. I try to join and it says there are maps that I don't have. I went back and downloaded all of the old map packs again except for the one you have to pay for.

Do you "have to" pay for the map pack to be able to play again?

Either that, or not play Team Slayer and wait for the new maps to become free.
