You didn't give me an option of 1-2 years. I'm optimistic.

Xbox is a computer, that Microsoft did not make :). Flextronix or something like that actually built, and still build the system in Mexico.

LOL

Halo 3 looks OK at best. As PC Gamers we've been enjoying the height of power and performance for a long time. Consoles caught up for about a month then got flattened again.

Also...CRYSIS. PC Exclusive. Best looking game to date.

Actaully CryTek is looking for PS3 programmers, so that could very well mean it could come to the PS3 as well.

*sigh*

That was for the engine to be able to be USED on PS3 so other developers could buy it.

Also, Crytek said that a console version would not look as good as what we've seen now.

worst GOTY game ever created

That would be Half-life.

  • 06.15.2007 1:22 PM PDT

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Nah, Half-life was great. Now Half-Life 2 the episodes are a little on the silly side, I mean if you are going to make a game, then you need to make a "real" game, not an episode that will last you 6 hours, and that's when you are just messing around.

worst GOTY game ever created
Truth! (Still, it was pretty good to get the GOTY award and become acclaimed above all the other riff-raff.)

But that's the great thing with episodic content--you don't have to wait two or three years for another sequel, and if you don't like it, then you don't have to buy it! Just buy the "episodes" you enjoy.

what i think is really sad is that there are console kiddies out there who think that computers will never have as good enough graphics to compare with consoles.

if you wanna see my opinion, go check out the EVGA 8800 GTX. one of those suckers will blow Halo 3 out of the damn water, and with SLI capability? pleeease, you console fanboys, stfu and get a computer that is actually worth -blam!-, and play something like Crysis, BF2142, Company of Heros, HL2: EP1, or Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

yes computers have always been more expensive, but you can do a LOT more than you ever could with a console.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

IF and when they make Halo 3 for the PC, it will just be Vista only anyway.

I don't think I'll really care by then. I mean, Crysis will blow nearly all FPS's out of the water for a good 6 years, by which time Halo 3 will be rusty.

It'll be a -blam!- port by a -blam!- company like Hired Guns anyway. Has anyone actually heard of Hired Guns before H2V?

hired gun was formed for the sole purpose of h2v (although i read somewhere that one of the dudes on hg said that they wenrt just formed for just h2v)

and yes hopefully crysis will blow all shooters out of the water. it sure looks like it is going to. (especially that game type that can last like 4 hours, it looks awsome. but i doupt my butt could handle sitting that long......)

Pff, when will pcs be good enough to handle something like Halo 3?

Pcs are already capable of running Halo 3, it's not as if the game has Gears or Unreal Tournament 3 quality graphics. That being said, Halo 3 looks fantastic.
I say 3 years from now.
Most likely 4.

Halo 3 looks like Halo 2 with a face lift and a push-up bra. I'm not impressed.

We can run Gears now...

We could have run Gears for a long time, the question isn't whether pc's can handle console games, it is can a console handle a pc game, enter Crysis.

Actually, I am. When Halo: Combat Evolved first came out, the graphics were simply amazing--probably one of the main reasons it was such a successful launch title. Then followed Halo 2, which was even more gorgeous. Halo 3 looks great, to be honest, but not to the same level as Halo and Halo 2 were when they first came out.
