Who are these people?????
geeks who think they are good at life cuz they're good at a little video game.
Well three of the people on that list (and their new team mate StrongSide) are on $250,000 contracts each, and make more money actually competing.
If it means you have to be "geek" to get that kind of bank, then I'd want to be a "geek" right now, please.
exactly what im talkin about... people get money for sittin their lazy asses on the couch playing video games when other people actually have to work hard for their money. its just sick...
How can you make a comment like that?
Money is money. As long as you're not doing anything BAD for it, you're making an honest living. If you're jealous of StrongSide making $250,000 for playing video games and working EVERY day to get that good, then it's one thing. But you can't honestly say that they're not making money like the rest of working America.
To get that good, it takes time. And I could imagine that he doesn't have "fun" playing, because this is about money. He has to take it serious, practice every day, and dedicate time to be good.
It's not like he sleeps, eats, and plays Halo when he wants. Because if that were the case, he wouldn't be able to be as good as he is now.
For the record, David Walsh (Walshy) has his own clothing line, Kianeto, that he manages for 40 hours a week. On top of that, he needs to find time to play.
At last years championships, Ghandi took part in a charity match where the winnings went toward Hurricane Katrina victims. He was able to win them $2000 for his charity.
You need to understand these people before passing judgement on them. Don't just think they sit down and play video games all day. They have lives as well, most of them are trying to balance these tournaments with school. Like Victory and Mackeo not being able to practice for Meadowlands because they had to wrap up the school year.
All in all, they are making money not just for playing games, but for putting in the time, work, and dedication to be the best. Isn't that the reason that we're making money anyway? Getting payed to game isn't like your "conventional" jobs, but it's still a job, and it's something they both enjoy doing and are making cash while putting in the work.
There's nothing wrong with that at all.
