i wld kill 2 have halo ce on xbl.

Called xbox connect.

Halo 1 easily is better than Halo 2 in the campaign, but multiplayer wise, they are about equal with halo 1 slightly better.

It's nice you feel that way, but that is no reason for them to remake Halo 1

No its not, i dont understand why people would want to have remake of almost perfect game, they can ruin it or we could wait for Halo3 to be better than both of those games, of course there is some people who have already doomed Halo3 to be worse than HaloCE

Halo CE is by far in my opinion a much better game than halo 2. The campain was much more interesting and had better climatic battles. The multiplayer is also much better than it is in halo 2. Halo 1 was much more fun and much more skill based. Any one in halo 2 could own someone. Halo 2 is better with team work. There is no one man team in halo 2. Halo 1's pistol was the perfect ballance because you could defend yourself against anything including snipers. The halo 2's BR was a terrible replacement for the pistol. It had no range, the three round burst was way to easy to pull of a head shot. The sniper in halo 2 was probably the easiest weapon to use in the game besides that dumb sword. My grandma could even pull of headshots without trying. No scoping in halo 2 was about as easy as shooting the BR. I guess thats all because of the games auto aim. The games main flaw. It was like a magnate where i didnt even have to aim. Give me a halo CE pistol and all you halo 2 players can get your piece of crap BR. You can get your autoaim too and my pistol will still own.

And you obviously don't see the problem with that? If a measly little pistol can do all that - then you have a problem.

There's a reason why Halo 2 is different; and you just stated it. Campaign better? That's your opinion, I find Halo 2's campaign so much better because there are so many amazing Vistas to behold, and traversing the galaxy makes the campaign feel worth it - not playing half a game then repeating it for the second half.

By "amazing Vistas to behold," do you mean an extremely linear level design with an unhealthy amount of death barriers?

Halo 2 is so linear, sometimes I almost feel like Master Chief is a train, stuck on rails, and you can only change how fast he goes through the level. :/

It doesnt matter if there is 1 or 1000 meter wide walkway if there is nothing. GTA is completely based on big levels, but you could as well have few blocks, you still do the same stuff. I like big areas but it doesnt matter if there is nothing, Halo2 has great athmosphere as well as Halo1.

Exactly

And what I mean is by views - not areas you can traverse - because even though Halo 2 is more linear than Halo 1 - Halo 2 did have some fairly huge levels.

Some examples

Cairo's MAC Gun
The large buildings of New Mombasa
The Lake of Delta Halo, specifically from Regret's place of prayer
the Sentinal Wall, from both the gondola and that little area down below on the side you reach
The Library, seeing the large Transportation thing crash downwards
High Charity
The Control Room from various places.

These are only a small sample - when I get Halo 2 Vista, check the PC Forum and you'll see all the Vistas I'm talking about.

Halo 1 didn't have much to offer in my opinion. Sure, seeing the great distance from the cliffsides of the level Halo were great, but it's the only thing you saw of its nature throughout the game.

The ring from the Pillar of Autumn is so tiny the ship actually hovers over it.

Halo 2 has alot to offer - the only real problem I find with it is that Bungie designs their areas with only one major way through. For example, Delta Halo would be alot better if you could walk across it as well, and not have to be forced into huge empty areas with no ammo, and too many ghosts to count.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Halo 1. It's just that Halo 1 had large areas with very little inside these areas, whereas Halo 2 had smaller areas with alot more inside, and larger areas that you could not reach.

I'm totally aware of those, I'm just saying, the background visuals could be nothing more than cardboard walls for all I care, considering how you can't go as venture as far as you can see.

I'm not saying Halo 2 doesn't have a great atmosphere, but it seems so linear compared to the first game. :/

Eek I didn't know it was your post I was replying to lol - I would have taken more consideration as to what I put, because from alot of your posts I see how you feel about Halo 1

yeah man. xbcs not cutting it for me, bring on xbl!

  • 06.20.2007 2:02 AM PDT

I think there was less atmosphere in halo 2, and the levels were more restrictive and linear.

  • 06.20.2007 6:15 AM PDT

If you are used to playing Halo 2 on Xbox live you are going to get smoked if you play CE on xbc. Trust me. I'm pretty good on Halo 2 and Halo 2 does take some skill, but I got completly owned when I playing Halo CE last night. Halo CE is better than Halo 2 for the huge fact that it takes way more skill to play and be good at then Halo 2 does. Even if the Pistol does 3 shot. :)

Halo 1 absoultely CRUSHES halo 2 and 3 combined and every other FPS when it comes to multiplayer. You control your teammates spawns and use tatics and grenade tricks along with better aiming skills to overcome the other team. its also possible to outsmart better shooters(aka host). the game flow of halo 1 is yet to be even touched by halo 2 and 3. 2v2 maps? TEN OF THEM. halo 2's 2v2 maps absoultely look like crap compared to halo 1. 1v1, you had 3 maps! halo2s 1v1s, people -blam!- camp and call it skillful and fun. halo 1s gameplay makes halo 2 look like checkers vs chess. the gameplay flow is quicker and smoother. camping is DEATH. auto aim is not a issue.

halo 2 and 3 doesnt come close to halo 1 at all. good players of halo 1 know why.

thank u very much, i was about to write the same thing but u did it for me

Everyone have different taste, some people like to have space even if there isnt anything whle some people want smaller but filled places. Halo1 is great but most of space is just waste of time, in level Halo there is a drawn line that you will likely walk, you can go watch corners and trees but most of those places are just empty. Id really like large levels, but still they could feel more lively. Halo1style levels filled like Halo2 levels would be great. Id really like to choose i i want to go to highway with few warthogs and fight against waves of vehicles or go through small apartments and fight against infantry with infantry when some of my allies use the other route. Choices.

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get... but you can bet it will be chocolate.

i kinda like halo ce mp better than halo 2. not because of weapons or maps or anything but beacause halo ce was about skill, halo 2 is all about team work.

PRJ since1990 is my Gamertag. Let's play

Halo 2 is just Halo but better. The graphics are souped up and theres more weapons and multiplayer kicks ass. Sure, the campaign could of been better, but the events that took place are part of the story and need to be told. That way Halo 3 makes more sense. Ok no scope pistol, but do u really need it? They took the assualt rifle apart and made the BR and SMG. Its still there in spirit. and if u look and a shotgun from far away thats not totally loaded on the screen it looks like the AR.
