When I am checking my score while playing multiplayer online, I see these things to the right called pings. The number 100 is usually there. Does anyone care to inform me what the hell that is.

Ping: the time taken for data to be sent to the game server and back to your PC. Therefore, lower ping, less time delay between your input and the server's response, making the game play smoother and with less lag. A ping of 100 is about average, it means it takes one tenth of a second to communicate with the server, which is faster than humans can percieve, which means gameplay will be smooth and enjoyable. A ping of 2000 would be likely to result in you shooting someone who isn't actually there - it's just the server is taking too long to tell your computer where the person actually is.

(btw Ping is measured in thousandths of a second, as in 1/1000 of 1 second).

Basically, try to play in games where your ping is 100 or (preferably) less.
