"I could not stop death, so death kindly stopped me"
"because inside-out is wiggedy wack"
Here is my final take on the gate, unless i blossom with a new idea.
I have seen a few videos showing that the gate does not exist. I am one who supports those statements. I may not be a modder, or have A.R., but I found out clear evidence that the gate does not exist. You will see that the switch simply activates the gondola. I sat down one day on the couch with my friend, and we explored the whole mystery from head to toe. Using some glitches we know, we managed to figure out the hard truth. Look closely:
To get to the switch in delta halo, you must jump over a building (we all know...), thus not activating the trigger which spawns you to the next level. You will see that once you go past that building, there will be pre-loaded material such as jackals and grunts who do not attack you. This is because you didn’t activate the other trigger which causes the AI to recognize you as an enemy. (This gets activated after completing delta halo)
As you will also see, once you get to the switch, that it is also pre-loaded material, meant to activate the gondola. Ok, here is the proof:
Once my friend and I completed ‘delta halo’, and entered the level ‘regret’, we grenade jumped over the broken bridge and to the other temple, which is usually unaccessible. After that, we grenade jumped over to the gondola, which was supposed to move before you got to it (it didn’t). Once we were on the gondola, nothing happened.
(The gondola was triggered to move away as soon as you set foot on the turf near it.) I made a small investigation, and concluded that the switch is loaded inside the gondola. (I seen this by comparing two screen-shots)
Conclusion:
On delta halo, the switch did not activate anything, because the gondola was not pre-loaded into the code of ‘delta halo’. Also, after the switch is activated to move the gondola in regret, it disappears.
(Thus, once you step onto the soil near the gondola, the gondola moves and the switch disappears. Actually, the switch turns on the gondola, and then it disappears. Hehe.) This is it for now, but if I get more info or a video I can show you, I will. Oh, and some people say the switch is simply a glitch.
