What do you think about this?
Grenades that blow up when an explosion is near-by?
(In multiplayer, of course!)

The locations of the grenade spawn points would have to be considered!

That's one of the best parts about Halo

I didn't exactly understand what he is talking about...please clarify.

Kill a marine on a harder mode, then throw a grenade where his dead body is WITHOUT picking up his grenades... enjoy the show!!

Well in game, when a grenade blows near another they both go BOOM!

But, in multiplayer games it only scatters the near by grenades...

Let's say we both throw a grenade at one spot at the same time. They do the same size explosion as one grenade. Now this is saying, do you want two grenades exploding at the same time (or close to it) 2x the explosion?

He is refering to grenades being able to be set off by other grenades and/or explosions in multiplayer. In halos single player, explosions set off other grenades that are close by on the floor. In multiplayer, grenades are merely thrown across the map. I would love it if bungie made "grenades that blow in Multiplayer" because it could lead to some very fun and explosive times. You could also warthog jump in multiplayer without having to use rockets and lots of people.

I think this would be best as an optional thing for server admins to set...

You should be able to shoot grenades and make them go off, the same should apply to flying rockets.

That would be so sweet for warthog traps.

It would be nice as an option. However, I wouldn't be able to do my trick on Multi-player:

When someone is getting the Rocket on Chill-Out. (You need at least 2 plasma grenades for this) You throw one plasma grenade directly below them and then throw a second in the same exact spot only wait a second or two before you throw the 2nd grenade. The second grenade is propelled up by the 1st grenade's explosion. When it reaches the top of its jump, it explodes! Hitting the guy getting the rocket.

It is kinda a timing thing you have to see him going for the rocket a head of time. Sometimes it knocks them off and they don't get it. Other times I just get killed for attempting it. I know other people do this and I am not claiming the invention of this technique.

It sounds like a really cool way of killing an entire team on the top of their base in blood gulch, with a single grenade.

It would make for some fun with a ton of grenades and trying to get a tank over a ledge or some thing like that. Like the warthog videos they make, you know?

That's funny, I was thinking about that yesterday when I was playing multiplayer and wanted to create a thread about it.

Yes, grenades that have been dropped by killed players should be able to blow as soon as something gets blown close to it. Obviously the grenades that are pick-ups and haven't been carried by anyone yet should be left alone. As that could make for extremely cheap "traps" (as in, you wait for someone to come past throw a grenade, set it off and do it again after the grenades respawn).

Whatever he is talking about with the 2 grenades, here's my answer.

A grenade should set off others that are in the ground nearby. So yeah

You can kill a rocket in mid flight only in multiplayer though (it works best with AR after the rocket has been flying for awhile). One of the reasons, I think, that the grenades do not blow up that way in multiplayer is because it might stress the Xbox(s) and create some lag or something. Think of how much grenades you could put in one spot with 16 players working together! On a weirder note, my freind show me this Halo underground video where they meleed a rocket.
