okay, so i've configured the 360 controller to work for the most part, but the one thing I cannot find help with is the WALKING SENSITIVITY.

I can only move in FOUR directions and when i press a direction SLIGHTLY i move in that direction at FULL SPEED (very annoying).

I have heard something about a patch but I have no idea where to find it, can anyone help???

(and no, i cannot just use the keyboard, im on a laptop and I have never been a PC gamer)

The game was written like that, nothing you can do

Please Bungie, redeem yourself w/ Reach.
Halo 2 and 3 both stink out loud.

Yeah same here, although I'm using a modified original xbox controller. With the sensitivity lowered and running halo custom edition it's quite good except for the walking which is WAY too fast and I end up wobbling a lot and falling off of catwalks.

Exactly - the only way the thumbstick will work the way you want it to is during campaign.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

If you're not using keyboard and mouse to play, expect to get beaten badly in multiplayer. My Logitech pad comes with software to adjust the "dead zone" for the analog sticks. If there is nothing available to configure your Xbox 360 controller that way, you might as well get used to the mouse or touchpad.

The XBCD driver supports increasing the dead zone but that doesn't really help. What we need is analog response instead of digital response from the left analog stick. Right now it's all or nothing.

Oh man, that must be even harder to play with... analog movement and digital look. Yikes

It doesn't work like that - it goes by settings, not thumbsticks - it's always analog look and digital movement.

Why don't you buy a PC gamer keyboard?

aka lino4

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

I've won games with the controller.

The walk is strange, but it can save your life during snipers.

Just practice.

This may sound odd to you, but I bet there are plenty of PC gamers who would say the same thing about consoles and using the gamepad. You should learn to use the mouse and keyboard; once you get used to it, it makes the controller look like a clumsy stone-age tool.
