There aren't any legit level 50s yet, and yes, it's cheating.

That sucks but theres no way to patch it.

All they have to is open Commview and they can see every IP that is in there game. From there all they have to do is flood your IP. To my knowledge there is absolutely to way to fix this.

its sad that people would do that to win a game, i mean its illegal, and they could goto jail just to get a level in halo 2.

  • 06.16.2007 11:06 PM PDT

Its not likely they will go to jail. Some of the better cheaters like JuStCaLLMeGod and HoStGoTBooTeD hide there IPs through a proxy. Therefor, there invisible to most people and cheating in halo 2 isn't high enough of on the FBIs priority list for them to actually track them down. Let alone actually have enough evidence to send them to jail.

there just little nerds and its not like they would be investigating because of cheating in a game but because that someone is shutting down internets in whole households..

This isn't new, it has been happening for some time now, but under the radar.

As Miztik said, it's normally Hostgotbooted and Callmegod who do the IP flooding bit, but more and more people are catching on. They also steal accounts, so don't talk smack to 'em or else you might have a kernal IP logger trying to get up in your business (I know this from personal experience LOL but thankfully nothing happened.)

IF you get caught doing this, you could face a hefty fine of at least $2500.00 dollars, but it's true- the FBI isn't going to get involved in this because it's a minimal problem (even though you got attacked) that I doubt they're going to try and stop.

However, network attacks are a federal offense and do have consequences, if you're actually caught.

Sorry about your predicament.

people that cheat like that are usually nerdy whimps who probably are the same ones that create computer viruses and trojans, the type of people that are worthless to this earth and society. lol

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

This has been around awhile actually. Send an email to h2cheats@microsoft.com with the GTs of the cheaters, a link to the stats, and a brief description of what happened.
