Since many people have been saying that Halo 2 Vista is a resource hog, the gameplay is unbalanced and the graphics suck, why don't we name some positive things about Halo 2 Vista instead of negative.

Not so much. They need to include an rcon first.

The two new maps are pretty good. Disatrict is a little vehicle dependant but Uplift is a lot of fun to play on.

It's the hard heart that kills...

It feels less unbalanced than the Xbox flavor, maybe because of the mouse/kb combo for me...

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

Wow, I feel left out. I mean, I won't be getting Vista nor Halo 2 Vista until some time later. But guys, remember to never forget your roots nor your shots lead in Halo PC!

You say that like it's a bad thing... Would you rather be one of those tools that bought the game when it came out just to come over here and whine about all the bugs, than a person who gets it when it's patched and has no problems with it?

Hmm, well, I said it before reading the numerous glitch complains. I read one about a cool map and another one talking of a low end PC.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Meh, most of them are newbies here at the MAW, but some are are correct, but to be honest some will do nothing but -blam!- about it in every thread.

There's the fact that you don't need the disk to play it after you've installed it. That's a great feature that even most PC games don't have.

The physics are fun. Especially headshot physics.

Hooray for exaggerated physics!

Since when do people do somersaults after they've been shot in the head?

Don't try to pull realistic elements out of Sci-fi... especially when said sci-fi material is from a video game. And what do you know about people being shot in the head lol =P

Realistically speaking, shooting the MC--in his MJOLNIR armor--with a14.5mm APFSDS round... I'll bet some sort of acrobatics will be involved XD

It's not the realism that makes it cool. It's the hilarity that results from certain shots and deaths.

Even though it was already on the xbox i like the live system. Where you can message your freinds and invite them to games instead of trying to use xfire. Alos leavin messages if there not on is also usefull.

Not having rcon is not a big issue as there wasnt rcon in the xbox version and still big tournaments took place, but it would be usefull for dedicated servers.

The new map Uplift is kool, the other eats my fps :(

The gameplay is improved imo, especially while using the mouse (even though its sluggish). I would say and playing halo 2 at high res makes the game alot more fun than playing it on my 15" TV =D

I also seen alot recently when you hs someone they die the same way as they did in halo 1 which is a +1 too =O

I really like the Live interface, i only think it's a bit dumb that it only starts up after you startup H2V, MS should make a windows interface for it so it starts up when you start Windows, it should be easier for friends to find you and invite you to a game.
The gameplay feels alot like Halo 1 which makes me feel right at home with all the controls.
I never had H2 for the Xbox so the entire game is pretty new for me, and that's a big plus which makes the game worth the money i payed for it.
Oh yeah, i also like the fact that i haven't had a single problem running this game.

if you got to www.xbox.com you can basically login in to you xbox live account, see whos online on your freinds list, send and receive freinds messages, see what games there playing just like the live service in halo 2.

So basically, the live service can be used with out halo 2 being run

Yes, but it wouldn't it be better and smarter to have an application running under Windows which automatically signs you in just like Xfire?

My "Good Things" about H2V:

1. SP is as good as I remember it, except that now it's easier to beat on Legendary.
2. It's easy to find and join MP matches.
3. Greatly improved netcode.
4. Very graphically appealing (Don't give me crap about how old the graphics are. The graphics have been refined and they look fantastic at high res)
5. Very smooth gameplay.
6. SP levels/MP maps load insanely quickly.

That last one's definitely a plus. Any stutters when you enter a new loading zone?

I haven't really seen any. If there are any, it's no worse than SP on Halo 1.

Lol, a guy in a movie, shot by a rifle during civil war, did a nice backflip before dying. twas a movie, though.

i duno why everyone is blaming H2V. You guys are lucky, except us Halo 1 on XP/Lower OS'. We have low range of weapons, boring graphics, ability to defend home planet from aliens whom are crazy (campaign, woot woot! lookin forward to that part). I just hate the fact that you have to PAY to play online.

  • 06.18.2007 8:19 PM PDT

What it is.

You don't HAVE to pay to play, it's just you get a lot more out of it if you do pay. Or, really, you get most of the standard stuff if you do pay. If you don't pay for play you only get to choose dedicated servers that aren't Gold-only. You also can't create your own game, but you can create your own dedicated server. You can't use quickmatch(useless right now, so w/e), custom match(search for exactly what you want, i.e. filter), and you can't have in-game voice. The game is great though if you're willing to shell out $50 a year. It;s not a lot of money if you have a job, but if you're living off of allowance i can understand(lol).

Yeah, that's Hollywood. In action-flicks, people tend to get actually blown away or pushed back from the force of a bullet hitting them, which is complete bullcrap considering how that doesn't happen in real life.

Yeah movies are pretty realistic. Like Bruce Willis killing a helicopter with a car...>.>..I can do that.
