OK, i am a level 12 in big team battle and i always get stuck with a bunch of 8's and 9's. while the other team has all 10's and 11's. i get 25 kills and 6 deaths, save the flag more than anyone. meanwhile the rest of my team gets decimated. and then i loose the most experience for it! I mean who ever heared of loosing experience in the first place!! i mean that is why it is called experience because your not supposed to loose it! I think i should be judged by your personal performance not the whole team. i mean you say on you level explanation it is there to show how good someone is? lol no offense but the only thing it shows is how many winning teams they have been on. this level system is a joke. you gotta do something about this.....

you do know that not all level 8's and 9's suck right? maybe they have been playing other game types like rumble pit or clan matches and leveling those ranks up.... as to why you got paired up with a bunch of lower level guys, who knows, maybe they were in a party going off and playing games together.

when someone reaches level 5-7 i expect them to have a fairly good grasp of what the multiplayer maps are like and what the game types are.

And my advice is, unless you are in the top 100 gamers on the score boards, dont even worry about your rank, as long as you know you are bad ass thats all that matters

I agree with you Stone420 that if your not doing a clan match then it should be weighted on how you do. Because other players might bring you down like he said.

I think it's cool to see my rank go up and all, but that's not really what the system is about. It's about putting people together of *relatively* similar skill levels. I'm fine not moving up in level at all ever again as long as I get to play good, competitive matches.

The level system is really not something you should worry about. Really, it's just there to try and match you with players around your same skill level. And it really doesn't mean that 9's can't beat 10's. In fact I've seen games where good team players of a lower level beat players of a higher level. Just play to have fun; don't worry about the levels.

well it just sucks when you did better then everyone in the whole game. more kills least deaths more medals ect... then your skill rating goes down just cause i got stuck with noobs who dont know how to comunicate and try rushing the base solo. you say its for puting you with players of a similar skill level? well how am i being matched to someone with a similar skill level when my rating is based on someone elses skill level? huh tell me that....

I think a big problem is that the levels are game specific, so if someone who is level 15 playing rumble pit decides to play a team game but has not done so before is going to be listed as level 1. Obviously misleading. Also lets not discount that someone who has been playing multiplayer Halo 1 for a couple of years is going to be listed as level 1 when they start on Halo 2 multiplayer and I think you can see how misleading that is. I'm new to Halo altogether and admit that I am sometimes awed at the speed, skill and apparent ease which other 1 - 4 level players are killing me regularly and consistantly.

As you state you are a level 12. So evidently you have won quite a few times. Why not form a party with the people you won those games with and enter the big team battles? I'd rather have people I know by my side then risk luck of the draw.

It also depends on connection also. You could be stuck with level 12's and 13's but you might get a worse connection so out of the benifit of having a fun game they stick you in a rather faster better connected server.

Its not a fair trade I know but playing a Laggie game is just frustrating...

If you're having trouble with your teammates, I suggest better communication. Ask them what they're doing. I've been surprised by teammates that I thought were idiots only to find they had a very clever strategy. Also, when you do get a group that plays well together, don't leave them. Form a party with that group. In this way, you can level up with good players.

That's the point of a team game, though...you have to be willing to accept your whole team's losses if you are their ally.
