Normally I've seen alot of people who think H2 is more of a sport. ( I Havent against pro's ) But some say, they need alot of rest. Or They need something to eat before a big game?. Or a warm up game. Now, the warm up game said That he needed a warm up before he started a Team Hardcore Game, and he was winning by 10 kills. I just think that people get a little serious about playing a Videogame. I do believe that Pro Circuits are important to a whole bunch of people but, I think there going to far......... What do you think?

  • 06.17.2007 7:41 PM PDT

I do warm up sometimes. It helps me get my aim on track before I play good people.

I think when there is 100,000 bucks on the line, you do whatever it takes to get to the top of your game...nuff said.

I agree. Video games are a fun pastime. Something I do on weekends, or if I have an hour or two to kill. But turning it into a competitive sport is... a bit much.

Im not saying your bad, but if you are good, you cant just turn your xbox on and be at the top of your game without freshening up your BR. Also, as Sunshine Giovanni said from last years Circuit. "Its not a video game, its a competetive sport, these guys are a new brand of athelete"

If you are, or on the brink of being good enough to actually make money doing this, go for it. Its obviously worth it. getting paid to play a game>getting paid to work. I often find it funny when kids who aren't close to ever making money take it so seriously though, wasted time IMO.

Yeah, but its more about getting used to how fast the reticule moves, and how fast the other players move.

Kids that are good enough SHOULD treat it like a sport though. If you have a talent that can make you a ton of money, why wouldn't you take advantage of it?

I see absolutely nothing wrong with people treating it like a sport. Games can be turned into sports. People have this stupid notion that something must be athletic for it to be worthy of being a sport. That's completely false. For something to be a sport, it has to take skill. Whether that skill is athletic or not, it doesn't matter. That said, why shouldn't Halo 2 be considered a sport? It's a game, sure, but so is football, basketball, baseball, etc. All games are meant to be played both leisurely and competitively. It just depends on what you want.

Its the competitive aspect that all humans have. Losing sucks to most people, even if it is something as minor as a video game. Most people that play sports don't get paid for it, and shouldn't take it seriously, but they do.

I wouldnt really consider videogames a talent. I find it more of a........ skill. It takes time to be at least semi-pro. But my point is, that there are people that take a little TOO far. And you should take advantage of it. But, If someone sees a pro, and says ' Hey, There idea of getting in the game seems to work, I should do what there doing to in order to be just like them'

Playing a warm up game is not taking the game too seriously...it's maybe 10 minutes out of the way and for a lot of people it's the difference between winning and losing that first game. Maybe your point is that winning that first game isn't important, but I'd take a win over a loss any day.

Of course people are going to imitate the pros. It's just a way of life. If we want to be better at something, we imitate those who outdo us.

A natural skill is a talent. Some people do have more natural skills at video games. Not everyone could just become pro if they played a lot. So obviously, there is a natural talent, it just definitely has to be developed with a lot of practice, kind of like any game.

Im at least trying to go pro. And your right, no one likes to Lose. not even what you seem to call the ' Little Kids'. Now, you would tell someone to get lots of rest for a test, or a baseball game. But not a videogame. Some say people have no lives because they waste it on videogames. But then most of the people who played the videogames make more money then the the people that didnt support them
