Of course people are going to imitate the pros. It's just a way of life. If we want to be better at something, we imitate those who outdo us.

Some people can live by the rules just by the way you say it, or they end up with nothing

Im at least trying to go pro. And your right, no one likes to Lose. not even what you seem to call the ' Little Kids'. Now, you would tell someone to get lots of rest for a test, or a baseball game. But not a videogame. Some say people have no lives because they waste it on videogames. But then most of the people who played the videogames make more money then the the people that didnt support them

yeah, if people actually "rest up" to play XBL, tahts taking it too far. the pros don't even do that. they may rest up during MLG tournys, but thats it.

Do me a favor, go watch a VOD on any of the pros, or actually go and play with one of them.......

yeah, everyone has talent. Even people terrible at other sports have talent, just not a lot. The pros have a lot more talent than everyone else. If you can move the triggers, than the have some skill, everythign atkes skill, and has some talent associated with it. its just the amount you have that makes a difference.

Well, pretty much its about hand-eye coordination. Getting it timed just right, so you out kill your opponent.......lol
there is so much more to the game when taken to a competitive level than just timing and hand-eye coordination

Yeah, Millions of people have talent. I spend at least 5 hours practicing. And thats it. I have nothing against pros at all. I Mean, just think about thee managers you see in Major League Baseball. notice how they'll throw chairs, or bats. And some would say thats taking the game too far. But spartans cant throw bats and chairs.

If you're talking to me, I have. I've never played with pros, but I have played with semi-pros, and some well known players.

If anyone knows Luckes, he's a well known Halo2 player, he is one of the instructors for T2's gaming Lessons.com, he's on my friends list, and I play with him every once in awhile, so i've played with well known people. I'm not close to pro though, and I don't take the game too seriously.

All the things I've said have been about how people that are good enough, SHOULD take the game seriously, I never said I was one f those people, did I? i simply said, that at the competitive level, Halo2 is very much like a sport. look at my first post. I said there, that people who have noc hance of making money doing this, shouldn't take the game seriously.

You could make a good arguement there...

I can't play Halo 2 or Guitar Hero 2 when I'm tired... why? Because your brain doesn't function correctly as it gets tired.

Games that require hand-eye coordination require a good thinking process... your brain can't think correctly if it needs sleep.

But why would you plan ahead and sleep for matchmaking?

Dude...what the hell are you talking about? I've never heard of anyone saying, with any sincerity at least, that they need to get some rest for a game of halo. Nor have I ever heard of someone say they need to eat something before a big game. And where did not having a life come from? And since when do most people who play disgusting hours of videogames make more money than those who don't?

Hazmat, your whole post is ridiculous.

I was talking to Geralds.

And during a tournament, again, anyone would do anything to make themselves feel better to play. there's a lot of money on the line, and every little bit helps. Would you rather play groggy, or full of energy?

So if you were godd enough to go to MLG events, and do well(Top3), youl would pass it up because you'd rather just play for fun?

  • 06.17.2007 8:32 PM PDT

My last thread: Why Reach Sucks

<3 Foman

It takes a lot of nerves to compete on that level. I've been to a lot of local events and a few MLG's. You NEED to practise with a team for 4 to 6 hours a day for months to do anything at those events. My buddy unkowngod was tied for 4th in 7th round losers FFA at meadlowlands and probably made pro bracket 4v4. He practises a lot, and also trains his body. Your physical stamina has a direct effect on your energy and mental stamina. He used to go for runs and work out to prepare for events. It takes emence talent to be the best in the world at anything played as much as halo 2. So if it's in your best interests then you should take it seriously. I know what it would take to be pro, I've been on the brink but decided my time would be better spent doing other more productive things like getting into a good college. They don't take it to seriously because that's they're career choice. If you don't take your job seriously, then you're a half azzed slob. I'm gonna win the h2 challenge btw lol. <3 <3 <3
