I'm running Halo 2 vista with only 445.9 Mega Bytes and it looks pretty good, Mainly because I don't care about the way it looks it runs pretty good.

It can't be ram, vista basic requires 512 ram to run, doesn't it? On a side note, I can't even get vista solitaire to run well with 512 ram.

RAM is never displayed completely accurately when you look it up through windows. Why this deserved its own thread, I will never know.

Your videocard is not using 256 unless you are running on Max LOD settings (and even then it wouldn't use that much).

It always shows up fine for me,except when I use integrated graphics. The vram from that subtracts from my normal ram.

I mean it could be possible hes using 64mb integrated graphics. But I'm sure that wouldn't allow halo 2 to run smooth.

You would know this how?

In any case you need to think more, he says he has 1 gb but his video card uses 256. That means it's integrated without it's own memory or has a feature such as hypermemory or turbocache.

Running it at everything full, with a AMD dual core (can't remember which one, but it's one of the lower end ones), Nvidia EVGA 7800 GT (DX9 card), and 2 GB of RAM, and it hasn't lagged on me once.
