I think they should have some type of halo quitter ban.

So when people quit the game they cant play another game for like 5 minutes then they will learn not to quit,And also i hate when its like 4 people on one xbox.So when one person quits everyone quits i hate it and iam tired of it.

Dont play Halo if you dont like the gametypes!!!!

Ironically, that's what they're doing.

This has been suggested many times before, but I think it's a bit late in the game's life to introduce a major overhaul to the system, dedicating time and resources for a game that will be severely outdated in 3 months.

Because you are what you eat, and you know what it is.

Some people don't have a choice but to quit unexpectedly. I mean, 4 out of 5 times I have to leave in the middle of a game due to unforeseen circumstances.

That's unresonable. The people who quit bought the game with whatever amount of money they spent and if they wanna quit, they can

Then the 5 minute "penalty" time that the TC mentioned shouldn't matter to you. It would work great against those that only quitting because they are losing.

Surely if people are quitting certain maps/gametypes all the time then bungie must know about this and could always change the playlists accordingly so that people didnt feel the urge to quit. I agree with the bloke/lady that was saying that if we've bought the game then its our choice.

 • 06.19.2007 12:07 PM PDT

thats a good point Evil Bond 359, but i'm sure that it was mentioned at in the beta they would lose experience points if you quit out a game on any given playlist ( this will probably follow on in to halo3 ), that i think is enough to deter people quiting because of unfavouarable gametype or map.

Yeah apparently that happens on Halo 2 as well but its just not as visable as Halo 3 (with the RP points). But yes that did deter me from quitting in the beta but I doubt it will in the actual game because certain maps (e.g. colossus) are soooo annoying when you manage to get them in 3 out of the 5 games you play.

I'm with the topic starter all the way. It is an egotistical thing to join a game in matchmaking knowing the risk that you might not get the same map that you are best on, or the map you like the most, or if you just quit at the beginning of the round, and then quitting because it can't be perfect for you, or quitting to lower your rank which is a wussy thing to do and makes you look like an ass to everyone else. You do not stop to think of your teammates. I have never once quit a game before. I remember there was even a time when i was in the same game for five hours because some exploiters got the bomb outside of the map (mind you this is before the 1.1 update and before any the new maps came out) but I was the last one on my team still in the game. There are always risks to matchmaking. deal with them.

I remember there was this one 8v8 big team battle game of assault I was playing on Containment a long time ago, I told everyone if we all rushed through the teleporter we could win no problem. All eight of us went through the teleporter. The first round goes by, we all went through it, and we armed the bomb, but we also saw that they had a modder at the end of that round, regardless we won the round. He got into our base, and armed the bomb. then 2 of our guys quit. They didn't realize that we could have tied with the opposing team if we had just repeated the same strategy as the first round. it was 6 v 8. and we tried the same thing again. we armed the bomb but did not plant it. we lost. I thought it was weak.

Then why were you playing the game in the first place?

I agree they should put something on there to keep people from quiting just because they are loosing by 3 or 4 points. Sirously, does leaving the game help the fact that your team is loosing? And if its an emergency, like your car just blew up, then why would the 5 min penalty affect you at all? Plus not everyone has hand full of friends who they can form a party with everytime you get on. And its very hard to go up in lvls when your team mates leave the first 2 min of the match.

partying-up before you start playing any team games (other than double team) is a bad idea. there are people that boost by getting second accounts. so, go fig?

 • 06.19.2007 1:51 PM PDT

I disagree, you should not be banned for quitting. I don't pay $50 a year for xbl to be banned from quitting a Halo 2 matchmade game. That does not mean that I quit or encourage quitting. A solution has been found to stop or discourage quitting in Halo 3. Don't waste your time complaining about quitting in Halo 2.

Halo 3 Weapons Specialist and BR Master...

Master Srg. Kelzorz Reporting for Duty...

Well for some reason i feel that ppl should not get banned just for quiting i mean if someone plays and quits 2 or 3 times in a row then fine five them a ban but sometimes ppl just have to quit because something is happening (like MOM CALLED YOU OFF) but yes i agree some type of system is needed to keep ppl from quiting!

I'm sorry but we're not all uber rich kids with 30 MB down and 5 MB up.

I have a measly 5 MB down and 500 KB up, and I get lagged out of games.

After I get lagged out, I have no wish to wait 5 minutes to start up a new game.

Deal with it. The people who really care about it, PARTY UP . Bungie is probably the nicest developer, quitting style. In Gears you can't even pick your team mates before the battle. So if you can , why whine about it? Seriously. And you can still have fun being all by your self. Stop caring about some measly rank and stuff like that. If a guy quits, just enjoy the match. You lost? Boo Hoo.

To relax and have fun playing. I'm sorry but if someone comes over or something comes up. I'm pretty sure that's more important then sitting in front of a tv.
