Today a young man on acid realized that we are merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are one conciousness experiencing its self subjectively. Life is but a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves.
Here's Tom with the weather...

It's not a "War On Drugs", it's a war on personal freedom.

Same thing happened to me today (red ring o' death)
It started last week though when playing rumble shotguns on desolation.
I was spinning around for a triple-kill when suddenly, the screen froze up, wih multi-colored bands striping the screen vertically.
There was also a high pitch electronic whine coming through my headphones.
I rebooted, started matchmaking again and the screen froze once more during a game on Ivory Tower.
Decided to clean my disc (just in case) and it didn't happen again until now.

So I'm sitting here this morning trying to clean the disc again when the 360 dashboard freezes up the same way.
"uh-oh, guess it wasn't the game disc"
After rebooting a few times I got the feared red flash of led's number 1,3, and 4.
I've heard of all the "home-remedies" used to alleviate but they are mostly temporary and don't last.

I cannot prolong the inevitable. I guess I'll grease M$'s palms once more and get an Elite.

One question to you though...
Seeing as I have not had this problem before (while always playing Halo 2 on my 360 for over a year), How many of you were in the Beta and had your 360's fail only after playing in said Beta?
I don't recall ever hearing the fan unit on my 360 turn on during beta games, and I am wondering if the Beta cooked my console.
Just a thought, not an accusation.

the manual said something about if it shows a pattern with 3 lit up then its an internal problem, and you have to call , or somthing along the ines of that.

if ur 360 freezes, move it to a warmer area.

Smart @ss.....I had the same problem when playing Halo 2 (BEFORE the beta). I had to send mine off to the repair center, lucky for me it was still under warranty so I got it fixed for free. But I don't think it was a issue because of the beta or anything having to do with it, but I could be wrong.

I got a new 360. I know they get a bit warmer than the old machine so this one is placed on it's side. I also placed two pieces of 2x4 under to keep it raised and air going all around it. Not great for the eye but this seems to keep my 360 running cooler. I plan on getting the fan unit at some point and time but prices are a bit more than I can afford. Then again if it means getting the 3 redlights of doom I may have to build my own small cooling fan to clip on the outside. Are the fans blowing in or sucking air out?

This may be because of various reasons. If you are experiencing a problem with the three red flashing lights, you should shut off your console and let it rest, if not contact the Xbox Live Technical Support Team here as well. If you feel your Halo 2 disk is unreadable or damaged, you should borrow, rent, or buy another Halo 2 disk. Knowing that your Xbox 360 is being overused and that it might be overheating, buying an "Intercooler" fan or other Xbox 360 fan kit wouldn't hurt. If your problem persists you are probably dealing with an internal issue with the Xbox 360 console itself, in which you must contact Microsoft or the company you bought it from if the warranty is still valid.
