I'm trying to use the XBOX 360 Wireless Receiver for the PC, but under the 'Controls Setup' When I change the device form Keyboard/mouse to the XBOX 360 wireless reveiver it doesn't save it. o.o Why is that? I'm running Windows XP. Halo PC is pacted to v1.07 also. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

What doesn't say it? Windows? Halo?

I'll presume HPC, and HPC is older than that thing so it wouldn't support it specifically. However, as long as Windows does (which it obviously does) it should be perfectly fine.

Try give a bit more info.

Windows XP detects the XBOX 360 wireless receiver just fine. However in Halo PC, I have the option to use either the Keyboard/mouse device or the gamepad, but everytime I change the device to gamepad it doesn't work. it always uses the Keyboard/mouse, I can't play Halo PC with the keyboard/mouse ; ;

Settings > Gamepad > 'devices in profile' right under it says Controller(XBOX 360 wireless receiver) click ok

controls setup > Device > Change it to either keyboard/mouse or Controller(XBOX 360 wireless receiver) click ok

I Change the Device to the Controller, but it doesn't save it, when I go back into controls setup, it says i'm still using keyboard/mouse. Does this help at all? =)

Halo PC, or Halo 2 PC?

Halo PC is not compatible with the controller. Sorry.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I don't know if this helps, but under each command you have to assign a controller axis or button. There are several pages of actions you need to assign before you use your controller (I think).

I think next to the keyboard/mouse option up the top you can click an arrow and it will change to Controller.

I think.

have you tried calibrating your controller to make sure its halo and not your computer because you may need drivers to operate it, also if it is halo thats causing the problem, you should try checking out microsoft support center because last time i was their i think i remember seeing patches for 360 controllers so that they would be able to run on older microsoft games.
well i hope i could be of help and i hope you figgure it out bye.

or his problem could be that the xbox 360 controller is NOT compatible with HALO PC, it's only compatible with H2V.

It's compatible, just not optimized, because why would anyone want to use an xbox controller to play a PC FPS? Unless of course, for some retarded reason, they put in autoaim and optimize the controller more than the mouse/keyboard...But doing that would just be stupid, wouldn't it?

okay having a real hard time with halo 2 on vista. it appears to install fine but wont run afterwards. it takes forever to load and i get what seems to be really bad framerates like 1 or 2 fps but even when im not on the game part even on the menus. if i try to load a new level it acts like it loads for 4 or 5 minutes and then never finishes. my specs are intel 6600 7900gt, 1gig ram, vista home premium the driver version is 7.15.11.5818 for the nvidia card.
THe only reason this is a reply and not a new post is because bungie wont alow me to start a new thread for 24 hours.
thanks in advance
