Start playing The Library, look at a wall (any wall), move around and see if you can see what I see, a wall texture line glitch. Happens on any level but The Library is one of the worst because it is very dark. Bright levels don't show as bad.

I think it's a little late to fix.

Does it happen on the original Xbox? If it does, then i'll forget about it but I don't remember it being to this extent on the original Xbox.

I don't recall anything graphically glitchy on the Library level that happened on ALL the walls. Can you describe it a little more?

  • 06.20.2007 7:59 PM PDT

It happens on all the levels (at least on the 360) but more noticeable on The Library (Worst), 343 Guilty Spark (less worse), Truth and Reconciliation and Keyes (less worse), Assault on Control Room and Two Betrayals (some places), Pillar of Autumn, Halo, Silent Cartographer, and The Maw (Barely noticeable). What happens is the wall will have either one line (The Library for example) or multiple lines (343 Guilty Spark) one side light, the other dark (in case of one line) or different shades (in case of multiple lines). It's better to play it to see it. I also want to know if it happens on the original xbox because I don't remember if it did or to this extent.

I'm pretty sure this is something to do with the anisotropic filtering, thats what it sounds like anyway, either way, it really doesn't make any difference to gameplay. and I don't even play halo 1 anymore.

Blasphemy!

The glitch you are talking about I am not sure I have ever seen before. But then again i spend my time killing badies, not walking face first into a wall.

You're bothering about one extremely insignificant nuance amongst the vast amount of flaws and imperfections in Halo--does it really matter compared to the larger issues?

It's a moot point anyway, considering how they can't nor will do anything to fix it.

Well, on the 360 the framerate drops fairly often when more than a few dudes are on screen. And on keyes level for some reason.

Um, why does this texture glitch matter, if the graphics are now inferior to almost all next-gen games? And also, Halo is not XBL compatible so they wouldn't be able to upload a path/fix.

If they were going to fix something I'd rather have widescreen support for 720p.

They really don't have to, considering Halo is several years old and they have to worry about getting Halo 3 as perfect as possible.
