Inside the Mind of Halotitan Help me get expand my mind.

Um, play with a group of people you know and your comfortable with, gain control of the power weapons and hang onto them if you can. In slayer matches kind of move as a group, but in a way that you all have eachothers backs, don't hump eachothers legs becasue you'll be one good grenade or rocket away from being the victims of a kill tac.

However, I found that in slayer matches you should only move when your not in control of the power weapons and will most likely need backup taking someone down. If you do have all the power weapons and are in the lead, then control a central area on the map and pick off the other team as they (most likely) wander around by themselves.

Ostrich I really wanna sig you, but need some fresh stuffs.
So make with the funneh.

Bitch don't tell me what to do.

Control the power weapons, be patient, dont always charge people. If your shields are down get somwhere safe. Go for headshots. Get some friends that you will play with alot. Call out where the other team is to your team mates. Communication is key in both hardcore and team slayer. Know the abreviated names for all the places in each level, like BR 3 and Pink 2. If you want I would play with you and show you how to get better. Im not the greatest skill wise but my strategies are tight like a man's anos. Add me on Xboxlive my GT is a420ballawi same one that is linked through this account.

All I know is to try to keep the sniper rifle away from the other team.
That weapon is the most troublesome of them all. Also sniping is pretty easy in halo 2, it can get you some fast kills.

Don't get cocky now!

Do what other people do to you.

Dance around in a firefight. Don't just walk in a predictable path (strafing left while shooting for ex.).

Try to jump and melee whenever possible, you do a lot more damage, especially when holding a bomb / skull / flag. Holding those items is usually a 1-hit kill with a jumping melee.

Whore the sword, and don't run around in the open with it, and don't hold it out all the time. Switch to it and lunge at the same time, then switch back to your other weapon so people might not see that you have it. Even if you don't like to use the sword, take it so that someone else won't use it on you.

Same thing applies to the plasma pistol... you might want to pick one up as your secondary weapon just so that the enemy won't use the "combo" on you.

Hone your grenade throwing skills. Know when to use a plasma grenade over a frag.

Use grenades for cat- and- mouse tactics... get someone's attention by shooting them a bit, then run away around a corner. if they are following you, throw a sticky just around the corner where they cant see. They might turn the corner right as it explodes if you time it right. Same thing for frags.

Switch to the "Boxer" button layout if you like to melee a lot. It makes it easier to run around and aim your punches while moving and turning.

I also need tips on team hardcore

Like I said man, same thing, you need to Control the power weapons, and control the map as well. I'll give you a breakdown of how my strategy goes, I'm not the greatest halo player but this strategy works most of the time.

1. As soon as the game starts gain control of the power weapons
*Sniper
*Rockets
*Sword
*Combo
*Etc.

2. You now need to meet up with your team, regardless whether or not you got the power weapons. Teamwork and communication is key to survival and winning.

2.1: You got all or most of the power weapons

*Have your team meet up in a place that you want to "defend", and spread out away from eachother, but not too far so they can get your back if you're in trouble.

*Let the other team come to you, especially when your in the lead. Sometimes players on the other team want to be the hero so they're wandering off by themselves, when this happens your team will be there to stop him/her.

*Try to make sure no one on your team is the "hero". Sometimes people get cocky when they're winning and run away from the formation only to get ganged raped by the other team. Often this can tear apart your strategy because you go one guy short, a guy who probably had a power weapon that the other team now has and will use against you. Just remember that it doesn't matter who gets the kill, as long as the point goes to your team.

*Be patient if you didn't get all the power weapons, use what you have and be cautious of that other sniper, or the person who happened to get rockets. Although you may out number them with power weapons, they may be better with the power weapons they do have.

2.2: You didn't get any/got some/or lost power weapons.

*If you didn't get any power weapons, you'll have to work as a team, traveling in groups of two is the best idea because it will require the other team to be wary. If you travel in groups of four it could cause the other team to focus on one general area and since they have all the power weapons, your basically screwed.

*Use your two groups of two strategically, if the team is guarding a certain area, attack at the same time in two different spots, it forces the other team to leave their back's unwatched or give you a better fighting chance because they're now focused on two areas of breach.

*Make sure you use your grenades, nothing is better than watching the sniper get blown up while he's trying to snipe your buddies. This is the best option you have while "charging" because it may distort their vision, throw them off guard, and maybe even kill them. If you kill at least two of their people and escape with a power weapon, then you just won that battle.

*If the team doesn't guard a certain area, then you have a better chance of success, when the other team travels with their power weapons they put themselves at danger because "YOU" can be anywhere. Travel in the groups of two and do your best to fight off their advances, remember, communication is important because they too can be anywhere.

*If you get some power weapons, use them to your advantage, distract the other team with it while the rest of your team sneaks up on them to steal the rest of the weapons back. Try to catch them off guard with grenades and steady fire when you get close enough, don't forget the person on your team with the power weapon might still be there to help you clean house.

*If you lose your weapons, just use the strageies i just listed, remember that you don't want to wander off by yourself, especially with the lead in your favor, but the power weapons and map control in their hands.

3. Map Control

3.1: Map Control is as powerful as the power weapons themselves

*High ground has the advantage over the lower ground, especially when your weilding a power weapon.

*Try to locate your team in a place where you can see every possible entrance to your location (Lockout's BR tower has the best strategy for this)

*If things are getting too hot in one location, relocate to a different place on the map, but make sure to travel in groups of two because you never know what you'll run into during the transition.

*Nicknaming certain things on the map is a helpful tool when your trying to tell your team where the enemy is approaching from.

I hope this little guide has helped you, I know it isn't much, but it's worth a try. Remember that this is my strategy plan when I play with my friends, you have to play with people you know. Other people might have other suggestions, so dip your feet in the water and see what works best for you. No matter what strategy you go with remember these three things.

1.Weapons and Map control is key
2.Teamwork is a must
3.Communication goes a long way

Agreed very good read.
And as for the kid, just play as a team and communicate very well, even if you think the littlest thing is stupid tell someone it could be important to them.

You MUST play with people that wont quit on you. That is not a "good" choice for a teamate!

i recommend controlling the sniper, rockets , and shotgun, and Battle rifle if your lucky. Keep control of these and win the game. But most of all teamwork is key. i've had games where the the differences between the top and bottom person were at least 20 points, that's bad teamwork. And if your team doesn't co-operate, then do what I usually would do. Follow someone around with the least amount of kills on your team to make sure they don't die so much. The only way for this too fail is if they have the sniper, but you shouldn't let that happen.

What if my teammates quit then their is no teamwork involved.

Way to look at the brightside of things, Chang.

That should answer it, if for some reason they quit then keep the same strategy. If you must travel, travel as a group of three.

If two people quit stick together and try to control the weapons and map.

If your the last one left, well, camp.

Get a good set up and assume a leader postion on your team if you have to(This means telling people where to sit at for your camp).

Please, for the love of God, CALL OUT ENEMY POSTIONS! Communication isn't a must have but it sure as hell helps.

Practice makes near perfect, so practice whenever you can. This means play alot of MM and, if you can, MLG customs.

Try to find people to play with. Practice together and learn each other playstyle.

*-- Halo Titan pretty much gave your the best advice ever. Gotta love those people who play the Hero XD

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get... but you can bet it will be chocolate.

When i go online, and theres absolutly no one to play with. I go into whatever palylist i want to, play a game with 7 people i dont know, then at the end of the game (works best if you are top of your team) invite the top people in the game. Sometimes it works and then you go on a winning spree. I do that with snipers all the time.

In halo 2 you can only get so good wiht a weapon until you can't get better with it. You wont win no matter how accurate you are unless you have team work. Halo 2 isnt about skill, its about team work. Get a couple guys who you are comfortable with. Play with them so you have an extra sense of where they probably are. Same thing with any soccer or hockey team... you sorta just know where your teamates are so you can pass to them and -blam!-.

In a hardcore game, or any game where you start with a BR... you cant have any less than 2 people go in a group. if accurate enough you and a friend can take the team out twice as fast if you coordinate your shots on the enemy. Put more bullets in the air than the other team. I find this useful especially on Warlock. Start out with your team chucking nades and then putting shots all around the enemy is a great way to start because they automatically feel under pressure. Some people just cant handle pressure.

The power weapons are usually what decide a game. 2v2 regular slayer on Ivory Tower is a perfect example. I played that game and my team lost 30 to like 7 because they controlled the rockets and the snipers. The very next game was against the same kids... except this time the spawns were different. We got hold of the rockets first and beat them close to how they beat us the game before. In a game wiht an SMG start, the power weapons are so important.

Team games, along wiht the power weapons are the power ups (camo, over sheild). The over sheild gives you an extra 2 layers of shield for 45 seconds if your not fired upon. You can take an extra rocket wiht the OS as well as i belive 2 sniper shots in the head. Camo works great on maps like warlock where theres enough darkness and detail that its harder to see an enemy who blends in.

Communication is critical if you want to win games alot. You need to say everything you witness in a game like... what weapons are on respawn, if you were shooting someone but they got away wiht no shields, which players have whatever weapons (very important when it comes to power weapons) , where the flag is, what weapon your carrying, and obviously where ever you see an enemy. Always try and team kill, you dont need the most kills on your team. If your goal is to get more experience, your not a team player and you need to change your style.

Finally, the most important thing in halo 2. More important than rockets or the sniper or team working... common sense. If you have the bomb, and your ontop of red base on Beaver Creek and your whole team is dead inside the red base. Don't jump in. Unless you know they have the sniper or rockets at a similar elevation to you. Stay alive as long as possible. And if you can always wait for your team mates. Your not rambo, you will get killed just as easy as anyone else. Play smart, dont rush an area where all 4 of your opponents are at. The player shooting down has the advantage at someone shooting up. This comes into play on maps like Tombstone... GET UP HIGH! Have someone grab the sniper and have your teamates protect the guy wiht the power weapon. Same with the oddball and king of the hill. If your arming a bomb, and you hear a rocket or see a grenade about to get you... drop the bomb so it doesnt go flying around the place after you die. Guess that pretty much wraps it all up. Sorry about the long post.
