hio,

ok so i got Halo like a month ago just to find out that my video card isnt good enough then today i go out and buy a $150 video card and come back to find that for some reason direct 3D doesnt work and so i go searching all over my com and cant find anything messed up about it and i did what it said about running dxdiag and it says direct 3d is working fine i dont get y it doesnt work!!!!!
my com info: direct X 9.0, 256mb of ram, pentium 4, direct 3D (tested and working fine!!!!!), and a radeon 9600 series video card. This all doesnt make sence and i think it might be i have to update halo but i cant even start it up which im gessing thats where i have to update it. omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oooh no don't worry I know what this is. You didn't uninstall your previous graphics card's drivers properly before you put your new one in. Let me guess, you just swapped the old one out and put the new one in and thought that'd be it right? Well don't worry we've all made that mistake. See you have to uninstall your drivers for your old card while it's still in there, then take it out, then put your new one in and sintall it's drivers, even if it's the same type, like an ATi 9200 upgraded to a 9600. Otherwise DirectX tries to render using your old card, which obviously doesn't exsist (at least as far as the PC's hardware detection is concerned).

but yeah, for drivers? i'm sure you can do it without having to put back in the previous videocard cause it's just files on the HD, nothing's stored on the video card driver wise...
