I'd like to know if Bungie plans on making Halo 2 for Mac OS, even if it's a year from now. Mac OS is a rock solid operating system and is in some need of real games. If anyone has not checked out the new OS for macs you can at apple.com... It's pretty amazing. I'm not sayin that there's anything wrong w/ vista or anything. But it still has a lot of bugs and I'm not going to upgrade and then half my software doesn't work. Anyone else think they should port it to mac?

PC games are never ported to Mac operating systems because Mac is incapable of running the games. Mac is more centered around media, and PCs are centered around PC gaming and everything else including media. Bungie has no plans on porting H2V to Mac OS otherwise it would be posted on the news.

Fail.

Though PCs are better than Macs for gaming, that doesn't mean Macs can't run them well. Unfortunately, because Halo 2 Vista is not to be without the Live service, and since Microsoft isn't going to be willing to let the "flagship" title for Windows Live to be available for the Mac operating systems.

It's interesting you say that, since Halo was originally created to run on Macs (and almost ready to be released in 1999, 8 years ago), and Bungie was a Mac game company, until it was bought by Microsoft.

Here it is the original announce trailer:

(and without Jobs intro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2yB0-Hgg8s)

You'll notice a few differences in this trailer against the released Xbox version, some regarding the trailer having poorer characters movement, but they had 2 additional years to work on an already designed game to improve it (and computers were 2 years older)... and it doesn't seem much was changed for 2 years.

Enjoy the vid.

Ever heard of Halo, Call of Duty 2, Quake 4, Prey, or Star Wars Empire at War?

Considering that Bungie doesn't port.

Seriously, why do these threads perpetually exist? It just doesn't make any sense. Let's think about the actual logic about this, okay?

Alright, H2V is expected to drive some (not all, some) sales of Windows Vista. We all know that Microsoft is public business and they are in the market to make money (Don't get your knickers in a twist, ALL public companies are in it to make money). In order to make money, Microsoft needs to sell applicable software, i.e., H2V or Windows Vista. IF Microsoft were to allow the H2V license to be ported to Mac, that would push sales of Leopard. Now, why on earth would Microsoft do that?!

I don't care how well Mac hardware/OSes can run software, including games, it doesn't matter how well Macs can do it! The only relevant piece of information regarding "Well, why doesn't Microsoft do this...?" is whether or not it fits with Microsoft's business plans and helps their bottom line

Now stop with these threads! The idea that Microsoft would allow H2V to be ported to Mac is idiotic!
