I have a problem when running 3D applications such as PC games. After a little play, it freezes and crashes and I get a message that says "display driver "nvlddmkm" stopped responding and successfully recovered". The interesting thing is that Microsoft made items such as Fable TLC and Halo PC are able to continue running after the freeze, whereas games from Bethseda Software, Atari, Monolith, EA, and Vivendi Universal don't. I recently downloaded a nVidia driver for my card and that made the problem less likely to happen but it still happens every so often. What should I do? My specs are as follows:

Operating System: Windows Vista 32-bit
RAM: 704 MB
Processor: AMD Sempron 2800+, 1.6 GHz
DirectX Version: 10
Video Card: nVidia GeForce 6200
VRAM: 345 MB
Sound Card: RealTek AC'97 Audio
Display Driver Version: 158.24

That's because many games that come from Bethesda Software, Atari, Monolith, and EA are something your GeForce 6200 can't handle. :/

Your PC is outdated and running Vista, it's not going to want more strain on it by running 3D games.

The problem with your theory: It happens sometimes while running WMP or Windows Media Center and sometimes for no reason at all.
