We are holding a Halo 2 tournament to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. It will be 4X4 tournament. We need help regarding rules and technical info (connecting Xboxs and stuff like that). We want it as fair as possible, with no teams winning because of tricks. i.e. Superbouncing.
Any suggestions would be helpful. If you need any info, just ask.

How many Xbox consoles are you planning on using?

2-8 depending on number of participants and how much the sponsers willing to help.

Okay. Well, you'll need:

1. Ethernet cables and an Ethernet hub/switch.
Now, if you're only linking two consoles together, all you need is a single Xbox System Link Cable, and nothing else.

However, if you're using more than two consoles, you'll need one Ethernet cable per console. Additionaly, you will need either an Ethernet hub or switch. If you're dealing with a larger number of consoles, you should use a switch; if you're dealing with only a few, you can get away with using a hub.

2. TV's (obviously)
Self-explanatory, really - one per console.

And...that's pretty much it : v )

EDIT: As far as rules go, just make sure that people aren't superbouncing, glitching or using other cheatzor shenanigry.

Well, it depends people say using double shots, quad shots, BxR's, BxB's, Superbouncing, and so on... is a unfair advantage you can even get bad feedback from someone if you are using those and bungie says it's abusing button glitches but many pro's use it and it does take some skill to do them, so if it were my tournament i would allow button glitches but no superbouncing, that is my opinion.

Thanks.
By the Way, its $100 dollars per team.

Not to turn this into a flame-fest, but I politely disagree with Never2BeSeen. Unless this is an MLG-style event, button glitching tends to make the game less fun. It also does not make the game more competitive, because it has a tendency to give unfair advantages to the people who are doing it.

EDIT: It's your call, of course, Hawk.

Yeah, we want it competitive but fun.

Some more questions:
Can anyone provide the layout for a stage tournament? We reserved the stage at a local casino and were wondering the best way to set it up there.
What are the best gametypes and maps? Also, should we use new maps?
If you could send me photos of tournaments, it would help too.

Edit: Whats the best way to referee the matches?
